You can tell that China puts a low value on human rights. If you have too many children, or of the wrong sex in China today, they are murdered by the state. There is also inmate organ harvesting in Chinese prisons.

Those who did the exercises after 1999 were arrested and asked to denounce the practice. Those who did so were released. Those who did not were tortured. Those who still refused to recant after torture disappeared.
