'The Bible declares it’s the parents’ duty to direct their children’s upbringing.

The U.S. Constitution reserves the power of public education to the states and local governments.

But today in the United States, the long-time aim of many leftists to give the federal government control over the minds of the next generation is nearly a done deal.

“For decades liberals have tried to seize control of public school curriculum,” author and Eagle Forum founder Phyllis Schlafly warned the attendees of The Constitutional Coalition’s 25th annual Education Policy Conference in St. Louis, Mo., this weekend. “Now [President] Obama’s mighty pen can achieve that goal.”

Schlafly, referring to Obama’s recent boast that his “pen” can bypass Congress via executive orders, explained her warning to hundreds of assembled teachers, school administrators, parents and activists at the Educational Policy Conference, or EPC, this weekend. Piggybacking on what several EPC speakers contended through dozens of shocking examples, Schlafly warned that the federal “Common Core” standards for public education not only blatantly violate the Constitution, but also indoctrinate students in leftist thinking, violate personal privacy and pave the way for a socialist society.

Yet the newfound ability of the federal government to dictate what students should learn has many concerned citizens arguing “Big Brother” has too much influence over the minds of the next generation.

Referring to George Orwell’s novel “1984,” from which the term “Big Brother” comes, former U.S. Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., told the EPC conference, “Orwell was right; he was just off by three decades. … I propose we act as ‘revolutionaries’ and tell the truth about education in America.”

Several opponents of Common Core have argued the standards set a bar that “dumbs down” what children need to learn, omitting key standards like proficiency in reading, writing, arithmetic, basic historical knowledge and exposure to classic literature.

Yet Linda Harvey, founder of Mission: America, revealed at EPC one of the exemplars is Toni Morrison novel “The Bluest Eye,” which is a disturbing tale of a daughter being raped by her father and then being befriended by a pedophile. Even more disturbing, the book portrays the rape scene from the viewpoint of the rapist.

Another exemplar text, listed for ninth graders is “Mother of Monsters,” a story in which a mother displays the virtue of “individuality” by intentionally deforming her own unborn children while pregnant.

“The Founders are made out to be racist, deceiving hypocrites,” Lembke told EPC.

“Our Founding Fathers must be rolling over in their graves,” he continued. “The authors of Common Core are on a mission. And their mission is to rewrite our history.”

David Coleman, the “architect” of the Common Core Standards Initiative, has since become president of the College Board, which designs the SAT and Advanced Placement, or AP, tests – and the Common Core influence is already being seen, for example, in the College Board’s AP History Framework.

“This is the end of American exceptionalism. You will not see Alexis de Tocqueville anywhere in these materials,” Korach said. “There’s nothing about the Pilgrims coming to America for religious freedom – it’s not discussed. … All they say is the British colonies ‘established racial rigid hierarchy.’

“There’s hardly anything at all about the Declaration of Independence, one sentence on it and no explanation. There’s one phrase on Washington,” he continued. “There’s none of the ideals motivating the Revolution … no discussion that we believe our rights come from God and not the Crown … no mention at all of Thomas Jefferson, Adams, Franklin, Madison or Patrick Henry. … ‘Give me liberty or give me death’ – it’s not there.

“Instead of [portraying] Manifest Destiny as the idea of to taking the blessings of liberty to all peoples,” he continued, the new History Framework claims the move West was “‘built on the ideas of white racial and cultural superiority.’”

“There’s no discussion of free market, world-changing inventions – no Edison, no Vanderbilt, no Carnegie, no Rockefeller. No benefit in this history from electricity, railroads, steel or energy,” Korach discovered, “but there is [mandated] discussion of the Sierra Club, the Department of the Interior and [labor and community organizer] Mother Jones.”

With Common Core, however, the federal takeover of public education is virtually complete. And that, the EPC contends, may just be the wakeup call Americans needed before it’s too late.'

'Barack Obama has now revealed that he unilaterally plans to use executive orders to “bypass” Congress. His shocking words were: “We are not just going to be waiting for legislation. … I’ve got a pen and I’ve got a phone. And I can use that pen to sign executive orders and take executive actions and administrative actions.”

I hope every American actually sees Obama speak those words on a TV or computer screen. His dictatorial attitude, layered with arrogance and condescension, should be repudiated by a self-governing people.

Like a comic book Daddy Warbucks come to life from the cartoon world, Obama met with town and city mayors last week offering them millions of dollars to boost the spread of Common Core through the nation’s public schools.

The United Nations built Agenda 21 through bought-off town and city hall governments, more than a thousand caving in from the get-go to sell off the sovereignty of entire populations.

'While there are many progressive slants to the curriculum which have conservatives up in arms, this is not simply a Left vs. Right issue. Many liberals are just as concerned as we are with the non-intellectual slant of the curriculum and the dangerous future it holds for our children and our country.

Men and women across America are standing up to fight the indoctrination program known as Common Core, which will not only teach our children socialism and United Nations-sanctioned ideas, but hinders their intellectual development.

One of the drafters of Common Core, Jason Zimba, admitted in a public meeting of the Massachusetts State Board of Education that Common Core is designed to prepare students only for a non-selective community college, not a university.

In Harold Ramis’ classic 1993 comedy Groundhog Day, TV weatherman Phil Connors (played by Bill Murray) is forced to live the same day over and over again until he not only gains some insight into his life but changes his priorities.

Similarly, as I illustrate in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, we in the emerging American police state find ourselves reliving the same set of circumstances over and over again—egregious surveillance, strip searches, police shootings of unarmed citizens, government spying, the criminalization of lawful activities, warmongering, etc.—although with far fewer moments of comic hilarity.

What remains to be seen is whether 2014 will bring more of the same or whether “we the people” will wake up from our somnambulant states. Indeed, when it comes to civil liberties and freedom, 2013 was far from a banner year. The following is just a sampling of what we can look forward to repeating if we don’t find some way to push back against the menace of an overreaching, aggressive, invasive, militarized government and restore our freedoms.'

Deconstructing the NIST WTC 7 Building Report

The written account of World Trade Center Building 7 at the Architects & Engineers for 9/11Truth web site is understandable although technical. I found that the audio in the 8-minute video was difficult for me to follow because the narrator speaks with a British accent, making the emphasis points different from those spoken with an American accent.

However I totally agree that a new 9/11 investigation is required to set the record straight as to the technical points of the steel beams and columns.

Probably more important and potentially much more devastating is finding out what really happened that day. Was the American public being deliberately misled so people would get behind Bush in a war? What was Cheney doing that day? Why wasn’t Bush surprised at the news? How come certain foreign nationals were permitted to leave the country during the air travel shutdown? What were certain federal agency heads’ motivations? Was the event a false flag like the Gulf of Tonkin incident, which LBJ used to get our country involved in Vietnam, or like Pearl Harbor, where some sources say FDR had two years advanced notice of the attack. Will we have to wait 50 years for certain people to die, as in the recent discoveries of the JFK assassination, before the government releases classified information? The Warren commission was a poor joke. We haven’t heard enough about the details of the Oklahoma City bombing either. Who called people the day before and told them not to come in for work the next day?

Think back and ask yourself, who do you trust to tell you the truth? The news media? The government? Clinton? Bush? Obama? The new Common Core education for our young people? It seems that the deeper you dig the worse it gets.

Exposing Common Core

One of the tactics used by politicians is to give something a warm and fuzzy name that is meaningless. This is happening with "common core" as it is starting to get some bad press. Look for "next geration science standards" instead. Gee, I feel better already. Don't you? 16-minute video.

It gets ugly when the kids are taught to go home and sell this stuff to their parents.

Judging by the eagerness with which most Americans have embraced the transformational hope and change of our country to communist utopia, the answer is no.

The American Iron Curtain

Daniel Greenfield has written a great article. "It is a wall of words. A wall of laws, regulations and mandates." I never would have thought that this topic would be relevant to my blog of Freedom, but watching Obama and his Fabian, creeping gradualism in the military, foreign policy, education, Obamacare, our economy, and our laws makes me think otherwise.

Those who are old enough remember the Berlin wall and the Evil Empire's iron curtain, but there are many young people who do not and are subject to believing the revisionist history being taught in some leftist schools and universities. The mostly accepted official versions of what happened in New York on Septemer 11, 2001, the Oklahoma City bombing and the recent Boston Marathon coupled with the criminal fraud of Obama's "presidecy" and his czars makes me believe that there is a rotten philosophy in America that needs to be purged.

'In March 1946, Winston Churchill told a Missouri audience, “From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of Central and Eastern Europe. Warsaw, Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Belgrade, Bucharest and Sofia.”

Today a new iron curtain is descending. It encloses the small Missouri town where Churchill gave his speech and all the great capitals of a great nation. Behind the iron curtain lie New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia and countless others.

It covers a million streets and hundreds of millions of people. Its shadow passes over stores and factories, homes and schools. It is not a physical wall. There are, as of yet, no border guards with rifles waiting to shoot those wanting to leave, there are no watchtowers or leashed dogs keeping an eye on the inner frontier.

It is a wall of words. A wall of laws, regulations and mandates. The 2012 Federal Register had 78,961 pages. There are 11 million words of ObamaCare regulations alone. With so many regulations, everyone violates a few of them without even knowing it. Assemble all the millions of them together and you have a great wall that would dwarf anything in China

Top generals: Obama is 'purging the military'

As a retired military officer, these stories about how Obama is ruining the military and our economy are painful and treasonous. Obama "the dictator" is a total dud who is doing this to our country on purpose.

“We cannot survive without increasing patriotism, a youth schooled in the Constitution,” Brady said. “If the uncommon common American is to prevail against the elite, we need to return to the truths of our Constitution."

Do you suppose that Obama's Common Core plans for our children's education includes teaching the Constitution? I think not.

We need to get rid of Obama and his ilk.

'WASHINGTON – Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, recipient of the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, as well as other top retired officers, say President Obama’s agenda is decimating the morale of the U.S. ranks to the point members no longer feel prepared to fight or have the desire to win.

“There is no doubt he (Obama) is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him” over such issues as “homosexuals, women in foxholes, the Obama sequester,” Brady told WND.

“They are purging everyone, and if you want to keep your job, just keep your mouth shut,” one source told WND.

Not only are military service members being demoralized and the ranks’ overall readiness being reduced by the Obama administration’s purge of key leaders, colonels – those lined up in rank to replace outgoing generals – are quietly taking their careers in other directions.

Sequestration has seriously cut back operational readiness for the military to the point where Boykin said that often they have no ammunition and are unable to conduct training because of the planned cuts.

“These officers want to train for war but are not be allowed to” because of the preoccupation not only with sequestration, but what Boykin said were other concerns surfacing in the military under Obama as commander-in-chief.

He referred specifically to the recent repeal of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell,” which now allows openly homosexual personnel in the military. In addition, he said the integration of women into the infantry “will reduce readiness of units.” He also was critical of the rules of engagement which he says favor “political correctness over our ability to fight to win.”

The reference was to the recent firing of a number of generals to mask “Obama’s serial scandals, all prefaced by lies – Fast and Furious, Benghazi, NSA, IRS” among others.

WND reported that three of the nine firings by Obama this year alone were linked to the controversy surrounding the Sep. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the CIA special mission in Benghazi, Libya.

In one case, U.S. Army Gen. Carter Ham, who commanded U.S. African Command when the consulate was attacked and four Americans were killed, was highly critical of the decision by the State Department not to send in reinforcements.

Obama has insisted there were no reinforcements available that night.

But Ham contends reinforcements could have been sent in time, and he said he never was given a stand-down order. However, others contend that he was given the order but defied it. He ultimately was relieved of his command and retired.

Now, new information in the Washington Times reveals there were Delta Force personnel in Tripoli at the time of the attack and two members volunteered to be dispatched to Benghazi to assist in protecting the Benghazi compound, contrary to stand-down orders from the State Department.

“It is no accident that the president used the Obama sequester and shutdown to punish the military family,” he said. “It is part of his DNA. In fact it is in the psyche of the entire liberal/progressive establishment – the elite. President Clinton outed himself and this ilk when he declared his loathing of the military. Who could believe progressives/liberals care about veterans and military?”

Brady said that some people who fear for the future of the United States believe it needs to be “re-moralized.”

“We cannot survive without increasing patriotism, a youth schooled in the Constitution,” Brady said. “If the uncommon common American is to prevail against the elite, we need to return to the truths of our Constitution.

“We need to realize that this recent assault on the military and veterans is no accident,” Brady added. “It is purposeful. The elite loathe our military, the one sure guarantor of our freedom. These elite – not a shutdown or default – and their assault on the Constitution and our military are the real threat to our future.”'

School Test Teaches Kids: “Commands Of Government Officials Must Be Obeyed By All”

'A parent of a ten year old was shocked to discover a grammar and writing test paper that their child brought home from school reads more like document from an authoritarian country such as China.

Others within the paper include:

“The job of a president is not easy.”

“He makes sure the laws of the country are fair”

“The wants of an individual are less important than the needs of a nation”

Along with enforcing government mandated rules such as banning packed lunches, this will be seen by many this as yet another example of how the nanny state is encroaching via the public education system.

It’s a concept also being promoted by the mass media. Earlier this year, MSNBC ran a segment pushing the notion that kids belong to the “collective,” and that the “idea that kids belong to their parents or kids belong to their families” should be eliminated.'

Obama’s Common Core

Michael Voris has a 7-minute video on Common Core education that may blow you away. He says it has been adopted by 46 states very quietly, and that Bill and Melinda Gates, of Microsoft and the New World Order population control, have been throwing lots of money at Common Core to support it. It also has about one half of the Catholics supporting it, but perhaps not realizing what it is they are supporting. Some professors are refusing to sign their names to the new educational standards.

Michael says it's government education, not public education.

'“What is your religion?” “What is your parents’ political affiliation?” “What is your sexual orientation?”

Dear American Patriots … What do ANY of these questions have to do with your child’s education?

Answer: the Obama administration and his new, intrusive Common Core program. Your child will be grilled with these kinds of questions, and many, many more just like it dealing with your income, family structure, sexuality, and other hot-button issues that have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO DO WITH EDUCATION and everything to do with politics and indoctrination.

The Blaze caught wind of those very questions listed above being asked to 10th graders in the Montgomery County School District, in Maryland.

Maryland, if you remember, is the same state where concerned parent Robert Small was ARRESTED for asking questions about Common Core.

So just the other day, The Blaze found out high schoolers were being FORCED—not asked, but FORCED—to go to a website called Edline and answer the questions above, along with things like:

“Who is to blame for the government shutdown?”

“What do you think about Obamacare?”

“Should assault rifles be banned?”

When parents found out about the intrusive questions, they naturally contacted the school. A Blaze reporter also began to ask questions.

And then…surprise! THE SCHOOL DENIED ANY SUCH SURVEY HAD EVER EXISTED.

The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) used to protect the privacy of kids. But last year the regulations were changed. Now, every single bit of information a school collects under the Common Core program can be shared among federal agencies and sold to private companies—with no parental consent and in many cases, NO OPT-OUT.

A teacher responding to criticism of Common Core said: “I am a teacher that understands and dislikes Common Core, and I do not know of any teacher that likes the program. It is another example of BIG GOVERMENT taking over more of our lives. We do not need a Department of Education at the federal level, because states know their educational needs better than Washington. States may disagree with what the federal government mandates to them, but they will do whatever they have to for federal money. Common Core and many many programs get into our educational system in this manner. Doesn't this sound like the way big government is trying to take away our freedoms? Citizens of this country better wake up and stop big government, which needs to begin within our educational system.”

She goes on to say, “Youth do not see a need for education or work when big government will take care of their every need. Hard-working and educated taxpayers are tired of big government forcing us to pay for this type of dependency on the government. Our present administration wants complete control of every aspect of our lives. I am glad that I was educated at a time when government wasn't trying to destroy this great nation. I still fight the system and try to teach children in a way that will help them to keep our liberties and preserve this great nation.”'

Common Core Is Meant To Destroy and Replace Public School Education

'The Core ‘experts’ expect kindergarteners to ‘Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing’ by the second half of kindergarten.

Just the use of the word ‘command’ in relation to a five-year old shows their cluelessness and ineptitude.

Where did the Core come from? It came from corporations. They like to say it came from the National Governors’ Association because it makes it sound like governors devised it. Only one problem, the association is comprised of trade organizations.

That’s right, corporations like Intel, Exxon Mobil, Walmart, GE, IBM and Microsoft devised and funded Common Core with help from Race to the Top monies (the Stimulus).

As an educator, I always knew the limited value of standardized testing, which I have used as a general measure of performance. They are linear and static but learning and information is not always linear and it’s never static. Core proponents claim to be teaching creative thinking when they are teaching only skills. There is little room for creativity.

Publishing companies stand to make billions off the new books and videos the districts will have to buy.

There will be a massive data collection program that goes with this program. They will follow your children from grades kindergarten through high school. Every infraction will be put in the record. Every place your child goes will have every piece of information about your child including their hobbies, mistakes, and every bad grade. They will know a lot about you too.

There is one thing you all should focus on. You are losing your liberty! Right, left, middle, all of you, you are losing your right to control your child’s education.'

While the President Barack Obama-led Socialist regime in Washington calls the tune by keeping the bouncing ball over the concept of Government-Fighting-Patriots, the real battle is the one where it gets to take over your children.

Millions of parents with school-age children will never know their children have been captured and led away. Common Core and CSCOPE Education

Wow! What a change in education for the worse since I went through school in the 50s and 60s. Dr. Paugh has tried to fight against all the politically correct garbage being force fed to our chidren and grandchildren. Is it any wonder that American students aren't doing well? In the 1950s Russia's lead in developing the Sputnik space satellite woke us up, that we needed to fix our education. We need to stop the "progressive" Socialists again, but that may not be possible today.

Then on October 17, 1979, President Jimmy Carter signed into law the Department of Education Organization Act, the U.S. Department of Education began operating on May 4, 1980, and things started to change.

People’s patriotic behavior and protectiveness of their culture, of their language, of the capitalist system in general that made them the most prosperous nation on earth, began to erode more and more overtly. Among the culprits were teachers who advanced personal socialist agendas to impressionable youth who believed every word they said.

At first I attributed my basic clash with other teachers’ educational views to my assimilation problems. Teachers would tell me, this is how we do things in this country and, if you don’t like it, you can go back where you came from. That I did not want to do because that is exactly why I left – education, how people thought, lived, behaved, and what they learned was dictated and entirely regulated by the Communist Party in the classroom.

I began to realize quickly that most of these teachers were hard-core liberals who were acting and behaving just like our former communist apparatchiks.

Education must be “collective” (code word for communism). If students are not equal, self-esteem is hurt. Grades and diplomas should be equal for unequal work in order to achieve social justice in education. Individualism is discouraged yet it is rugged individualism that has made this country great.
