What is the best formula for regulating the money supply?

Here is what G. Edward Griffin responded to a question on the money supply.

'WHAT IS THE BEST FORMULA FOR REGULATING THE MONEY SUPPLY?
2013 Dec 23 from Larry Cohen
Dear Mr. Griffin, I'm working on a currency article investigating what would happen if we worked on a set amount of gold, silver, or some other form of money. If we kept the amount at a specific volume, that money would be forced to represent the value of all our production. Would that be a bad thing for us, or a good thing? Should we allow the expansion of our money, or are we better off having a set amount stand for whatever we produce? Do you care to have some input on this?

REPLY FROM GEG:
Hello Larry.
The problem lies in phrases such as "if we kept the amount at a specific volume", "should we allow the expansion of our money" and "would we be better off with a set amount", etc. All of this reveals an underlying assumption that "we" or the state or some authority should have the power to manipulate the money supply according to one of these formulas.

I believe that the money supply should be determined entirely by the forces of supply and demand in a free market, so my answer is that I would not support any of the alternatives mentioned. If the free market were allowed to function, I believe the money supply would expand at almost the exact rate at which the population expands -- so that purchasing power would remain nearly constant or slightly improve over long periods of time.

No man-made formula will work, because all such schemes need to be enforced by coercion. Remove legal-tender laws, and the system will work for the benefit of all.'

Dems' 'don't impeach Obama' email backfires

This article by Drew Zahn of WND discusses impeachment. The information is good. In my opinion it should have beed done years ago after his first term. So what if the Senate doesn't convict the ruin-America Obama? Do it anyway to give us the information that the controlled news media has not. He would not have been elected a second time and we'd be better off. Americans would rather be told the truth. We have a bunch of "representatives" in Congress who do nothing and talk a lot.

'A long-time strategy of the political left has been to take its most threatening opponents – and those enemies’ most damaging arguments – and mock them, as though they’re ludicrous to even consider.
...
It was also noticed by Aaron Klein, WND senior staff reporter, radio host and New York Times bestselling author of “Impeachable Offenses: The Case for Removing Barack Obama from Office.”

“The White House and progressive machine clearly have failed in their attempt to paint the impeachment movement as fringe and out of touch with reality,” Klein told WND. “The general American public views with increasing concern Obama’s illicit extension of executive authority, his repeated bypassing of Congress and the many serious scandals that have plagued this administration from Fast and Furious through Benghazi through the IRS fiasco and now Obamacare.'

'Like a slow-motion train wreck, the Fukushima nuclear plant disaster is still causing damage long after the world’s media has left the news story behind.

On March 11, 2011, the most powerful earthquake ever to hit Japan triggered a tsunami with waves that reached as high as 144 feet. These waves swamped the Fukushima nuclear power-plant complex, causing a resulting shutdown leading to the world’s worst nuclear incident since the 1986 Chernobyl disaster.

The accident has been rated a level 7, on a scale of 1 to 7, on the International Nuclear Event Scale.

As a result of this disaster, the complex’s coolant pumps failed to operate and the power plant reactors overheated, leading to a release of radionuclides directly into the ocean exceeding that from any previous accident.

Water is currently being pumped into the reactors in an attempt to keep them cool and prevent further explosions, but handling the water is becoming a problem.

The contaminated cooling water is being released directly into the ocean and is making its way into the ecosphere. Water from the storage tanks has also seeped into the groundwater and from there, into the ocean. Efforts to use a various barriers to prevent contamination have not completely stopped the leakage.

There have been many other reports of fish and sea-creature populations dying in the Pacific. Also, there have been many discoveries of cesium–137 in high concentrations in seafood caught in the Pacific and sold in North America. There have also been many reports of unexplained deaths among wildlife:

Vast amounts of sea stars are “melting” off the west coast of North America;

Killer whales are dying off the coast of British Columbia;

There is an epidemic of sea lion deaths due to starvation along the California coastline. The question is: why are they starving? Has the food chain been disrupted?

Polar bears, seals and walruses along the Alaska coastline are suffering from fur loss and open sores;

Along the Pacific coast of Canada and the Alaska coastline, the population of sockeye salmon is at a historic low;

Something is causing fish all along the west coast of Canada to bleed from their gills, bellies and eyeballs.

Experts have found very high levels of cesium–137 in plankton living in the waters of the Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and the west coast, affecting the food chain in a process called “biomagnification”

As of now, there has been no direct correlation between these events and Fukushima, but the timing of the events and some contributing factors are giving scientists pause and are giving substance for calls for more studies.'

'“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”—George Santayana, The Life of Reason, Vol. 1

In Harold Ramis’ classic 1993 comedy Groundhog Day, TV weatherman Phil Connors (played by Bill Murray) is forced to live the same day over and over again until he not only gains some insight into his life but changes his priorities.

Similarly, as I illustrate in my book A Government of Wolves: The Emerging American Police State, we in the emerging American police state find ourselves reliving the same set of circumstances over and over again—egregious surveillance, strip searches, police shootings of unarmed citizens, government spying, the criminalization of lawful activities, warmongering, etc.—although with far fewer moments of comic hilarity.

What remains to be seen is whether 2014 will bring more of the same or whether “we the people” will wake up from our somnambulant states. Indeed, when it comes to civil liberties and freedom, 2013 was far from a banner year. The following is just a sampling of what we can look forward to repeating if we don’t find some way to push back against the menace of an overreaching, aggressive, invasive, militarized government and restore our freedoms.'

Another Grim Year with Obama

Here is Alan Caruba's take on 2013.

"The fifth year in the political marriage between Barack Obama and the rest of America has the look of a divorce in which a lot of Americans are wondering how we can rid ourselves of the worst President in the history of the nation. That’s not just my opinion.

As 2013 comes to a close it is abundantly clear that even the starry-eyed journalists and political pundits who thought Obama was as close to the Second Coming as American politics had ever known were having, not just doubts, but serious regrets. The White House press corps is now in a state of rebellion.
...
When you add in the residue from first term scandals such as Fast and Furious, Benghazi, and the use of the IRS to harass conservative groups seeking non-profit tax status, it was obvious to all but mindless Obama devotees that we face three years of further decline at home and internationally.

There is still massive unemployment. There are still massive numbers on government welfare programs and the nation’s health care system and insurance industry is being massively disrupted. The economy is improving incrementally, almost despite the administration’s policies.

To say that 2013 has been a bad year for Obama is also to say it has been a bad year for over three hundred million Americans. As Obamacare kicks in, 2014 will be a year its hidden taxes take effect. In November, voters will have the midterm elections to begin ending the a record of failed domestic and foreign affairs."

Where Do we go From Here America…Will There be Anything left?

Sher Zieve lays out what has been going on in America, but it seems that she is preaching to the choir.

To me, it is frustrating. Every day I sit in a Democrat-controlled state with elderly people in assisted living who have no clue what has been happening to us. For the most part they don't understand how to turn on or operate a computer to find out. They read and believe the government-controlled news media. I try to share a different viewpoint with a few veterans, neighbors and friends.

"For over five years, we have warned you about the increasing loss of liberty via illegal Executive Orders that are now treated as laws (even by a thoroughly cowed and supplicant Congress) and the removal of the ability to provide for yourselves (including the federal government’s abject theft of the little you had left) that the totalitarian-terrorist ObamaGov was installing in your cities and demanding you accept. It has happened and is now happening in the light of day, can be fully perceived by all with even moderately functional eyes, ears, brains and their attendant minds that we have become—almost overnight—a fully functioning dictatorship.
...
Military leaders who support the US Constitution and have indicated they will not fire on their fellow citizens in the event of manufactured False-Flag events in order to instill and install Martial Law have been fired and more firings are on the way. Obama demands a military that is fully-subordinate to him and will follow any order he gives them…including those that dismiss the US Constitution and recognize him as Supreme Leader. He is doing it and getting away with it.
...
The National ID Law takes effect in 2014 and will be enforced by the Obama-controlled DHS, TSA (which has had its police power expanded almost exponentially by Obama) and any other agency the dictator deems."

Clinton judge protects Obama and NSA

Larry Klayman discusses two judges with opposing views on the NSA spying on Americans.

Read more

'Earlier today, a federal judge in New York City issued a ruling that trashes the U.S. Constitution Obama-style, endorses absolute tyranny over the American people and runs interference for an unbridled and runaway National Security Agency (NSA). The judge’s name is William Pauley III, regrettably my former classmate at Duke University, but also someone who has now protected a Democratic president who I suspect hopes will now appoint him to a higher post, perhaps even the Supreme Court when Justice Ginsburg retires.

The ruling of Judge Pauley, who found that the NSA’s grossly overbroad and unbridled collection of metadata on all 300 million-plus U.S. citizens is peachy keen, since the government has an absolute right to secretly spy on all Americans, is an outrage. Here are excerpts from his opinion, which he likely issued on a Friday to try to deep six critical media scrutiny.
...
To the contrary, the courageous judge in my lawsuit against President Obama and the NSA, the Honorable Richard J. Leon, who found that the NSA’s overly broad spying without regard to terrorist threats is unconstitutional and in fact “almost Orwellian” – that is typical of a police state – ruled this way when he preliminarily enjoined the NSA from further abuse of the people’s right to be secure from unreasonable searches of their private and most confidential information:

“I cannot imagine a more ‘indiscriminate’ and ‘arbitrary invasion’ than this systematic and high-tech collection and retention of personal data on virtually every single citizen for the purposes of querying it and analyzing it without judicial approval.”
...
Contrasting these two judges and their decisions, it is clear who worships at the altar of a government god and who respects and enforces the God-given constitutional rights of the American people. Judge Pauley regrettably embodies what as a whole the judiciary has become: the “yes men” of the ruling establishment – whereas Judge Richard J. Leon is a rare jurist for We the People and thus an American hero.'

America Deconstructed by Design

'Under the cover and amid the distraction of the Christmas bustle, I had my last “official” contact with a source inside the Department of Homeland Security known as “Rosebud” in my writings. My source is leaving his position, retiring along with numerous others choosing to leave this bureaucratic monstrosity.
...
"...preparations have been finalized to respond to a crisis of unprecedented magnitude within the United States. The response will include the use of lethal force against U.S. citizens under the instructions of Barack Obama. But why?”

“‘It’s the economy, stupid,’” he began, paraphrasing a campaign slogan coined by James Carville for Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign. “Just as I disclosed in our first meeting, the crisis will be rooted in an economic collapse. I told you last year, at a time when gold and silver were setting record highs, one specific indicator that time is very short. It is the final ‘smack down’ of the metals, gold and silver, that will presage the orchestrated economic collapse that is being planned by the bankers of Wall Street. Everybody needs to understand that this is a deliberate collapse of the U.S. economy with the oversight of the White House and the full knowledge of the Justice Department. Everyone seems to be waiting for some big, history making event that will signal the start of the collapse. The fact is that the collapse has already started. It’s incremental, like a snowball rolling down a hill. It gets bigger and rolls faster. Well, this snowball is well on its way down the hill.”

“I don’t mean to sound repetitive, but I can’t stress this enough. Contrary to what you hear, we’re already in an economic collapse, except that most people haven’t a clue. The ‘big bang’ comes at the end, when people wake up one morning and can’t log in to their bank accounts, can’t use their ATM cards, and find out that their private pension funds and other assets have been confiscated,” he stated.'
