When you stop to consider the gradual changes in citizen privacy over the last generation, the overall change has been massive. You could be photographed by sattelites while sitting in your back yard.
This post is about a movie coming out about the decline and fall of America while we are being lied to by a Big Brother government.

'We have a generation of children growing up in America who have never experienced the levels of freedom we, as their parents, had. To them, status quo is surveillance cameras, computer tracking, id checks, fingerprinting and more invasions of privacy. All the personal freedoms that we used to take for granted but have traded in for “increased security.”'

Army-sponsored report suggests new 'police force'
"A newly released Rand Corporation report proposes the federal government create a rapid deployment "Stabilization Police Force" that would be tasked with "shaping an environment before a conflict" and restoring order in times of war, natural disaster or national emergency."
"To that end, the question becomes, how does a stability police force for the United States move the federal government closer to its goal of totalitarian control? When the question is asked in that manner, the answer becomes fairly obvious," Castle warned.
Castle believes the goal is power, and a major springboard for such a power grab comes from the economy.
During his campaign Obama mentioned the need for a special police force. Shades of Nazi Germany maybe? Lets hope the impeachment process kicks in before Obama can get a special police force.

Obama: State of the Homosexual Union
Obama is always doing the wrong thing.
Bruce
"Ignoring a letter signed by over 1,150 retired military flag and general officers, who asked Obama to enforce the 1993 Clinton-era law that currently prohibits open homosexual aggression in the military, Obama instead sacrificed military readiness, unit cohesion, and safety of all American troops, to prioritize his special relationship with less than 1% of the American population who claimed to be homosexual in the last census." Trijicon Drops Bible Lines From Scope
Political correctess again.

"Rifle scopes bearing references to the New Testament no longer will be issued to American troops, and scopes already in service will have the references removed.
Military optics manufacturer Trijicon Inc., of Wixom, Mich., apparently concerned that a Pentagon review of the situation could lead to a loss or interruption of its multi-million dollar contract for the Advanced Combat Optical Gunsight, said it is ending the practice begun by the company’s founder more than 20 years ago."

Maintaining the Posts in This Blog and Their Correct Dates
This post is to tell my readers that I have caught up with the posts that should have been made before I had the blog. The blog started December 16, 2009. Then about a week later I changed the link to www.FreedomBruce.blogspot.com, to make it easier to remember.
For the last week or so I have posted from mail files I kept from before December 16, putting the date in the past when the event happened in the heading. For example, xxxxxxxxxxxxxx - mm/dd/yyyy, or "National Anthem at Eagles/Patriots Game - 12/8/2009."
If an event occurred while I was catching up, it got time stamped like any other post, only there is no earlier date shown in the heading. For example, "D.C. court case demands Obama explain eligibility" was posted Friday, January 29, 2010, so that title appears with that time above the title, as it should.
I'm not aware of any way to sort all the entries by the date they happened.

"Obama is clueless, lost in space." - 11/11/2009
This article by Robin is insightful. "When Obama isn't prepped and rehearsed, he flails around like a blind man. He's clueless, lost in space."
Bruce
When Our Military is Attacked, Obama is a Nowhere Man
By Robin of Berkeley
He's a real nowhere man,
Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his nowhere plans
for nobody. . .
He's as blind as he can be,
Just sees what he wants to see,
Nowhere Man can you see me at all?
(Lennon, McCarthy)
I used to have a friend with a few screws loose. But you'd never know it.
Barbara would dress impeccably in designer wear, and her house resembled a museum. She was a professor, tops in her field.
But behind the impressive image, all wasn't right. She said she loved her son, Noah, but acted like he didn't exist. A single parent, Barbara wouldn't hesitate to introduce Noah to her boyfriend of the month. She skipped some of his meals, claiming that she was too busy to cook
Barbara called me her best friend. But she'd cancel dates at the last minute for no good reason. And she always flaked when I needed her.
Even though Barbara looked perfectly normal, there was something awry. Perhaps the neurons in her brain weren't firing properly.
I've been thinking about Barbara since Obama came on the scene. Like Barbara, Obama professes concern for people, but treats many with utter disregard. Since both are charismatic and successful, it's easy to get fooled.
Some would say Obama's cool detachment is narcissism. But narcissists are charmers; they know exactly what to say and do, even it's all hot air.
Others think that Obama is disengaged because he's elitist, arrogant. The day to day grunt work is beneath him. His motto: I'd rather be golfing.
All of the above may be true, but it's something else: he seems off to me.
During a 60 Minutes interview with Steve Kroft when the stock market was sinking, Obama giggled. He wasn't embarrassed afterwards or apologetic. More worrisome than his bizarre behavior was that he didn't regard it as strange.
Then last week, we've faced with a national crisis, soldiers killed and gravely injured by an apparent Jihadist in the guise of a military doctor. When announcing the catastrophe what does Obama do?
He drones on and on for three minutes about Native American health issues, even doing a shout out. In a monotone voice, Obama reports that soldiers have been shot. He's nonchalant, flat, as though he's reporting the weather.
Afterwards, the opinions roll in. Some say that Obama looks down on the military. He views our soldiers as the great unwashed, trashy and ignorant, like Sarah Palin.
Others assert that Obama's sympathies lie with the Muslims. Thus, he wants to avoid our burning questions: Why wasn't Major Hasan put on leave after he made anti-American remarks and surfed the web for information about Jihad? Most importantly: what is the government going to do to keep our military people and civilians safe?
True, Obama's disinterest could be related to all of the above. But there's one more possibility: he may not have the foggiest idea what to feel or say or do.
He may not realize that after dozens of our soldiers are shot, he should be angry. Sad. Worried. That he should feel something. Or at least pretend to.
When Obama isn't prepped and rehearsed, he flails around like a blind man. He's clueless, lost in space.
Obama wrote in his autobiography, Dreams From My Father, that he's not comfortable around people. This speaks volumes about his disengagement.
People who cannot relate to humans, who are made nervous by close proximity, shut down. They isolate and hide, like a snail inside its shell.
This is when my therapist mind goes into overdrive trying to figure out what's wrong with him.
Is he schizoid? (a detached, asocial person). Bipolar? (Manic depression ). Does he have a brain syndrome? What about Asperger's (high functioning autism causing a defect in social skills).
Is something wrong medically -- a hormone or blood sugar imbalance, a head injury, too many drugs in his youth?
Or is his disconnect caused by damage from childhood, from being raised by freaky people.
Barack Sr. was an abusive alcoholic and a bigamist. Obama's mother, like my former friend, Barbara, made decisions about little Barry that showed little parental concern, like schlepping him to Indonesia, then back to the States, then wanting to return with him to Indonesia (he stayed with his grandparents).
Obama's grandfather Stanley was impulsive and volatile; he was expelled from high school for punching his principal.
Stanley weirdly named Obama's mother "Stanley," because he wanted a boy. He anointed Frank Marshall Davis, an alleged pedophile and communist, as young Barry's mentor. In his autobiography, Obama reports feeling uncomfortable having to listen to sexually charged, drunken trash talk between Stanley and Frank.
Did Obama start sealing himself off in childhood? It would be understandable: who would want to bond with people so disturbing? And why form emotional ties when you'll soon be leaving?
Obama may have felt continually out of place and alien: black in a white family; American in Indonesia ; middle class with average grades at a rich kids' prep school; child of odd, Communist leaning family.
In Dreams, he reveals how he started detaching. About living with his grandparents from pre teen on, he writes, "I was to live with strangers." And: "I'd arrived at an unspoken pact with my grandparents; I could live with them and they'd leave me alone so long as I kept my troubles out of sight."
All grown up, Obama remains hermetically sealed. Although he's been a media star for a couple of years, we have no idea who he is inside.
I've often wondered why people haven't come forth to say, "I knew Barry when...." We live in a media saturated, exhibitionist world where everyone wants their three minutes of fame.
So where are all of his school chums, best friends, and old flames? The groups he hung with? His teachers, neighbors?
Where are the anecdotes of what Obama was like, his interests and predilections? Was he friendly, funny, insightful? Did he win any prizes or trophies? Pen any papers?
Obama was president of the Harvard Law Review. Yet from his former colleagues we find no accounts of putting out the journal together under his leadership.
He was a lecturer on constitutional law. Why hasn't a single student come forth and offered evidence, like a good attorney?
Why the silence? Could it be that Obama left no dent, not even a single footprint? Is there no there there?
When I envision the youth of other public figures, my impressions are vivid:
Little Bill Clinton: people pleaser, Mama's boy, a show off.
Young Hillary: Brainiac, smartest girl in the school, bossy.
W: Wisecracker, Class Clown, Smart aleck.
McCain: Impetuous, volatile, ornery.
Sarah: Sweet, popular, every teacher's favorite, Miss Congeniality.
Young Barry: _________________. Blank.
Only this: Stranger in a Strange Land.
Obama's identity seemed to have been formed when he found his clan: Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, and Bernadine Dohrn. But these are disconnected people, misfits who aren't comfortable in their own skin. Their radical ideology arises from rage and alienation.
They, like Obama, treat people with disdain. Rev. Wright damned us after 9/11. Ayers and Dohrn bombed us, even masterminding a failed plot to kill US servicemen attending a dance.
Obama's indifference and distaste are on display every day. He golfs while unemployment surges. He pontificates after an attack against America.
Why the "let them eat cake" attitude? Is it because he's pleased that the Left's long laid plan to decimate capitalism is working nicely? Is he stubborn, not wanting to do what he doesn't want to do?
I'd say yes. But there's something much more unsettling.
He may have a limited ability to care.
Sure Obama loves his wife, children, dog Bo, and himself, especially himself. And he relishes his far left ideology.
But the working stiff, the heart and soul of this country? I don't see it. The United States? I don't think so.
And that's why Obama should never have been elected President.
A man or woman can be a decent President without getting A's in school or graduating from the Ivy League. They don't need to have had a Brady Bunch childhood.
They can even lack experience if they work 24/7, know what they don't know, and seek expert advice.
But there's one requirement that is nonnegotiable:
They need to be able to care about us.
And, frankly, I don't know if this President is capable of it.

Quite something! - 12/4/2009
Quite something. This collection of editorials from Investors Business Daily is a snapshot of the country being run, from the Federal Reserve to you don’t really have property rights any more, to Barbara Boxer and global warming, to the KGB tactics of Vladimir Putin, to seizing control of the Internet, to Senator Dud (Dodd) trying to set up a new financial agency to give the government more control of you, to how we’re going to fight really hard, then quit to go home, and tell Al Qaida about this plan.
I don’t know about you, but when I was born in 1943, it was not clear that the United States would be a winner of World War II. It was an honor to serve your country and there were strong leaders. I started paying closer attention to politics during the Nixon fiasco. It is clear to me that limited government control is the better way to go. The editorials cite normal everyday typical problems we American citizens have to deal with. Just when you think how could it possibly get worse, Obama plays his next card.
I think that God wants my role to be reading the news and sharing it with you. There sure is enough of it. If you agree, fine. If you disagree, tell me and I’ll drop you from the mailing list.

Obama strategy for defeat in Afghanistan - 12/2/2009
As usual, I support Floyd 100%. Why commit our troops if winning is not the objective?
Bruce
Last night before an audience of Cadets at West Point, the Commander in Chief, Barack Obama, displayed his gross ignorance of strategic affairs and inexperience with military affairs. In a speech in which Americans were eager to hear a plan for victory, Obama instead laid the seeds of defeat without honor.
His lack of insight was on display for the world to see. He was there to announce his new strategy developed over his last three months of dithering and indecision on the future of Afghanistan.
Clearly this is the biggest decision of his term so far. He had to choose between the recommendation of his commanding General on the ground, Stanley McChrystal, or options developed by the feckless doves who control the White House. He chose the latter. In so doing, he ended hope of American success and doomed thousands of young soldiers to death far from home in a quagmire he has exacerbated.
Obama, obsessed with pleasing and looking good to liberals, is desperate for an "end game." He wants to "get in there quickly" and transfer responsibility for security to the Afghan military as rapidly as possible. Obama aims to begin winding down troop numbers as early as July 2011, regardless of military realities.
The heart of the decision is to send two brigades, one from the Marines and one from the Army, plus reserves, amounting to 30,000 soldiers. They are to be deployed to Afghanistan over the next six months, bringing the number of American troops in Afghanistan to 100,000. They are to be stationed in the south and east, where US forces are under pressure and needing reinforcements.
But the real kicker, which will doom his new strategy, was the announcement of an unrealistic timetable for withdrawal of 12 to 18 months. Announcing to Al-Qaida and the Taliban his exit strategy, he has given away all the information our enemies need to counter his moves. By telegraphing his moves to the enemy, he just commited one of the biggest strategic blunders possbile.
So his errors are compounded and will America bumble to a withdrawal before victory because the extra 30,000 troops will not be enough to counter an increasingly confident Taliban. Plus, the timetable for training the Afghan army and police is unrealistic. Finally, it is likely that the troops sent will be sitting ducks because of his wrongheaded change to the rules of engagement earlier in the year.
Overnight polling shows Americans are uneasy with his policy with only 35% supporting his Afghanistan policy. I am not surprised. He has now completed a trifecta of bad decision in Afghanistan. More reasons why he should be impeached.
Warm regards,
Floyd Brown

Five More Amateur Mistakes By the Obama Administration - 12/1/2009
Five More Amateur Mistakes By the Obama Administration
by John Hawkins
Since he has been elected, Barack Obama has been like a four year old wearing water wings and desperately trying to reach the edge of the pool. In other words, he has been completely out of his depth. Who could have known that giving soaring speeches about "hope" and "change" while voting "present" on the tough issues wouldn't be enough preparation for the most important job on Planet Earth -- oh wait, millions of Americans knew that and pointed it out at every opportunity. Unfortunately, the media was too busy obsessing over Sarah Palin's wardrobe and parody songs on the Rush Limbaugh show to actually consider whether or not a man whose biggest accomplishment was winning a Democratic primary against Hillary Clinton was qualified to be President.
Of course, we can debate Obama's ideological decisions all day. Does the country need socialized medicine? Should he have pursued that staggeringly expensive stimulus program? Has he been applying enough pressure on Iran? The answers to those questions are no, no, and no -- but, there's a more important question we need to consider: does Barack Obama know what he's doing?
Early on, the Obama Administration made a lot of foolish mistakes. Obama selected numerous tax cheats for his Cabinet. They gave the Russians a button that was supposed to say "reset"-- but that actually said "overcharge." He gave our best allies, the Brits, 25 DVDs of American movie classics -- that were not only wildly inappropriate, but wouldn't even play in their DVD players. Unfortunately, those early gaffes have not only continued; they've begun to have more serious policy implications.
1) What are we trying to do in Honduras? After Fidel Castro wannabe, Manuel Zelaya, started trying to engineer a rigged vote to overthrow democracy in Honduras, the rest of the government there sprang into action and bounced him right out of the country. Bizarrely, the Obama Administration sided with Zelaya and against democracy in that nation. Eventually, by making it known that they wouldn't recognize the results of a new election, the Obama Administration seemed to have Honduras right where they wanted them: they appeared to be on the brink of putting Zelaya back in power. Puzzlingly, the Obama Administration then switched course on a dime and made it known that they'd accept the results of the election whether Zelaya was back in charge or not. In light of the change in American policy, Honduras went ahead with their elections without giving power back to Zelaya. There was no explanation for the Obama Administration's original position, beyond catering to leftist thugs like Hugo Chavez, and no explanation of their radical shift at the last minute. If you can figure out what they were trying to accomplish, you should tell Obama. He's probably still trying to figure it out.
2) Russia's missile defense date dupe: It's bad enough that Barack Obama, in a display of cowardice that would make Neville Chamberlain wretch, unhesitatingly tossed the Poles and Czechs over-the-side on missile defense in an effort to appease Russia. Keep in mind that when we first went into Iraq, Poland was one of only three other nations to actually put their troops in harm's way to help us. Their repayment for that act of friendship and loyalty? We pulled back from building missile defense in their nation and made the announcement on the 70th anniversary of Poland's invasion by Russia in return for...well, nobody seems to know. There was an unmistakable message that Russia wanted to send to the small Western European nations on its borders by making the announcement on that date: It was, "America can't help you now. Russia owns you." Their message was sent with Obama's help as once again, he was played for a fool. Since then, Obama has backpeddled in an effort to fix the damage his bungling caused in the first place. It's almost as if Obama has no coherent strategy, no idea what he's doing, and is so far over his head that he doesn't know which way is up. But, it couldn't be that because if it were, Chris Matthews and the New York Times would be talking about it on a daily basis -- right?
3) Putting Khalid Sheikh Mohammed on trial in New York: No one seems to be able to give a coherent explanation for the decision making process behind this. Other terrorists are being put on trial at military tribunals, so why not Khalid Sheikh Mohammed? Why put someone through the American system of justice when both the President and Attorney General are publicly assuring everyone that no matter what happens, he can't be found innocent and released? You think putting KSM in front of a military tribunal, where at least, theoretically he could be found innocent looks bad? Well now, we're risking intelligence secrets getting out, increasing the risk of a terrorist attack on New York, and making it possible KSM might be acquitted on a technicality for a hearing that makes the greatest system of justice in the world look like a show trial cooked up by North Korea.
4) Cash for Clunkers: In a nutshell, the Cash for Clunkers program involved borrowing billions from the Chinese to incentivize Americans to destroy their working cars in order to buy brand new foreign cars. Although it's debatable how accurate their data is, according to the Department of Transportation, 4 out of the top 5 models bought in the program were made by foreign car companies. Moreover, after the program ended, predictably, the sales of new cars dropped considerably because the program didn't create new demand so much as cause people to buy a few months earlier than they would have anyway. In other words, not only did the program fritter away 3 billion dollars in borrowed money, it led to the destruction of more than a quarter-of-a-million functional cars that were bought and paid for by the government and could have been given to the poor or charity. The Obama Administration's reaction to this debacle? They want to create a cash for appliances program. Will they ever, ever, ever learn anything?
5) Why all the bowing? Most Americans find the idea that they should bow to another person offensive and they find it even more galling when their President does it. It's almost an insult by proxy. If even your leader is willing to admit he's inferior, what does it say about you? Obama seemed to realize this mistake, albeit after the fact, when he bowed to the Saudi King. Weirdly, even though many Americans actually saw Obama bow on video, the White House simply denied that it happened. How much audacity do you need to lie about something that tens of millions of Americans have seen with their own eyes? Even after that experience, Obama went on, in a grotesque, servile fashion to bow to both the Emperor of Japan and the Chinese Prime Minister. It was a pointless, humiliating display that quite frankly, made many Americans embarrassed for him as a man and slightly ashamed that we have such a weakling in the White House.

Since he has been elected, Barack Obama has been like a four year old wearing water wings and desperately trying to reach the edge of the pool. In other words, he has been completely out of his depth. Honor Heroes By Rescuing Their Country
By ERNEST S. CHRISTIAN Posted 11/30/2009 07:05 PM ET
A much-decorated genuine American hero, Marine Staff Sergeant Charles I. Cartwright, was laid to rest near the small farming village of Johnsville, Md., where he grew up and lived before going off to fight with distinction and valor for his country. He was killed in Afghanistan while on his fifth tour of duty in war zones.
Hour after hour, hundreds of other stalwart Americans filed through the tiny, hundred-year-old Johnsville Methodist Church to pay tribute, waiting quietly and humbly in lines that stretched outside and up the road on a crisp autumn day. An oversized American flag waved atop a nearby corn silo, the final touch in a real-life Norman Rockwell tableau.
It was simultaneously a scene both to make a strong man cry — and it did — and a reaffirmation of those characteristics that make the people of Johnsville (and others like them) the heart, soul and sinew of America.
Sergeant Cartwright's memorial service is also a reminder of how much better America and its people are than the politicians who rule over us from their high perches in Washington, only 70 miles from Johnsville.
By what right do they lord it over us, take our money, give it to their political friends and waste the rest?
Why are they always doing dumb stuff, costing us jobs, harming our kids, causing housing and credit bubbles, bankrupting America with debt, ruining the dollar, taking away the interest on our savings accounts and giving it to banks who won't lend to us but, instead, funnel the money abroad and aid speculators in the stock market?
Have politicians no sense? Have they no shame? Do they think we don't know what is going on? We want the folks in Washington to keep their hands off our doctors, our jobs and our bank accounts.
We see through all the double-talk about ObamaCare. We know that the phony numbers don't add up. The result will be more debt, more taxes and less health care at a higher price. And the last thing we want is to take a ticket, stand in line and ask permission from a bureaucrat about when, whether and what medical care we may receive.
We are embarrassed at the depraved spectacle of U.S. senators auctioning off their votes as if our health were a commodity to be sold to the highest bidder — and incensed by a president who now seems far more interested in winning a no-holds-barred political victory, no matter the cost, than in actually improving health care.
We don't like being lied to and having our intelligence insulted. We are outraged at politicians who demean America's constitution, its history and traditions — and have put their own careers and egos ahead of America's security and prosperity.
We are flabbergasted by a president who seems not to like us and our middle class values, who can't even bring himself to use the word terrorism, who goes about the world apologizing for America and forecasting its decline — and whose runaway tax and spending policies are, in the opinion of many experts, as well as by the standards of our own common sense, well-calculated to produce a disastrous result for America.
The politicians in Washington — Democrats and Republicans alike — seem intent on dishonoring the sacrifice made by Sergeant Cartwright and more than 600,000 American patriots in graves scattered all around the world.
As I sit on the porch of my farmhouse looking at recently harvested cornfields, I wonder why the politicians in Washington cannot be more like the real people of America, my friends and neighbors here in Johnsville, who do their work with competence and skill, are honest with themselves and one another — and always seek to help, not harm.
And I wonder whether the real people of America will ever be able to reclaim our nation from the clutches of political potentates now so arrogant and powerful that they seem to think they can — by spending money — "fix" elections and perpetuate themselves in office, even though most Americans disagree with what they are doing.
Perhaps the politicians will prevail — but I am betting on the spirit of Sergeant Cartwright and similar people everywhere to rescue and restore America.

Is it time to call the wise men - 11/30/2009
I am with Floyd 100%.
Bruce
I have been against Barack Hussein Obama since the day he announced his candidacy.
While others, even some conservatives hypothesized he would be a mainstream Democrat, I wrote an entire book dedicated to analysis showing he was an unreconstructed socialist.
But the election didn’t go our way, and I wondered how long it would take others to come around to the reality that he was a hardcore leftist set out to remake America as a 3rd world failed socialist state.
I have to admit to being surprised at how fast the wheel is turning. First the independents that voted for Obama started to have regrets. Now just one year after his election we are hearing about Democrats in open rebellion against the messiah-in-chief.
This Saturday morning my gut feelings about these changes were confirmed in the Wall Street Journal by Reagan Speech writer turned columnist Peggy Noonan.
Noonan travels in circles that most will never visit. She frequents the salons of power in New York and Washington, DC. What she is reporting is an amazing shift in the attitudes toward Obama in the governing elite.
Here are some of the highlights:
From journalist Elizabeth Drew, a veteran and often sympathetic chronicler of Democratic figures, a fiery denunciation of—and warning for—the White House. In a piece in Politico on the firing of White House counsel Greg Craig, Ms. Drew reports that while the president was in Asia last week, "a critical mass of influential people who once held big hopes for his presidency began to wonder whether they had misjudged the man." They once held "an unromantically high opinion of Obama," and were key to his rise, but now they are concluding that the president isn't "the person of integrity and even classiness they had thought."
She scored "the Chicago crowd," which she characterized as "a distressingly insular and small-minded West Wing team." The White House, Ms. Drew says, needs adult supervision—"an older, wiser head, someone with a bit more detachment.
Just as stinging as Elizabeth Drew on domestic matters was Leslie Gelb on Mr. Obama and foreign policy in the Daily Beast. Mr. Gelb, president emeritus of the Council on Foreign Relations and fully plugged into the Democratic foreign-policy establishment, wrote this week that the president's Asia trip suggested "a disturbing amateurishness in managing America's power." The president's Afghanistan review has been "inexcusably clumsy," Mideast negotiations have been "fumbling." So unsuccessful was the trip that Mr. Gelb suggested Mr. Obama take responsibility for it "as President Kennedy did after the Bay of Pigs."
He added that rather than bowing to emperors—Mr. Obama "seems to do this stuff spontaneously and inexplicably"—he should begin to bow to "the voices of experience" in Washington.
When longtime political observers start calling for wise men, a president is in trouble.”
I recommend Noonan’s entire article. Even though I think her proposed solution of calling out the “wise men” is impractical. The only solution to this mess is a full house cleaning. Impeach Obama and let’s start over with an entirely new crew in the White House.
Warm regards,

SEALs deserve medals not punishment - 11-24-2009
Thanks to Ed B. for sharing this piece.

Navy SEALs have secretly captured one of the most wanted terrorists in Iraq — the alleged mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four Blackwater USA security guards in Fallujah in 2004. And three of the SEALs who captured him are now facing criminal charges, sources told FoxNews.com.
The three, all members of the Navy's elite commando unit, have refused non-judicial punishment — called an admiral's mast — and have requested a trial by court-martial.
Ahmed Hashim Abed, whom the military code-named "Objective Amber," told investigators he was punched by his captors — and he had the bloody lip to prove it.
Now, instead of being lauded for bringing to justice a high-value target, three of the SEAL commandos, all enlisted, face assault charges and have retained lawyers.
Matthew McCabe, a Special Operations Petty Officer Second Class (SO-2), is facing three charges: dereliction of performance of duty for willfully failing to safeguard a detainee, making a false official statement, and assault.
Petty Officer Jonathan Keefe, SO-2, is facing charges of dereliction of performance of duty and making a false official statement.
Petty Officer Julio Huertas, SO-1, faces those same charges and an additional charge of impediment of an investigation.
The three SEALs will be arraigned separately on Dec. 7. Another three SEALs — two officers and an enlisted sailor — have been identified by investigators as witnesses but have not been charged.
FoxNews.com obtained the official handwritten statement from one of the three witnesses given on Sept. 3, hours after Abed was captured and still being held at the SEAL base at Camp Baharia . He was later taken to a cell in the U.S.-operated Green Zone in Baghdad .
The SEAL told investigators he had showered after the mission, gone to the kitchen and then decided to look in on the detainee.
"I gave the detainee a glance over and then left," the SEAL wrote. "I did not notice anything wrong with the detainee and he appeared in good health."
Lt. Col. Holly Silkman, spokeswoman for the special operations component of U.S. Central Command, confirmed Tuesday to FoxNews.com that three SEALs have been charged in connection with the capture of a detainee. She said their court martial is scheduled for January.
United States Central Command declined to discuss the detainee, but a legal source told FoxNews.com that the detainee was turned over to Iraqi authorities, to whom he made the abuse complaints. He was then returned to American custody. The SEAL leader reported the charge up the chain of command, and an investigation ensued.
The source said intelligence briefings provided to the SEALs stated that "Objective Amber" planned the 2004 Fallujah ambush, and "they had been tracking this guy for some time."
The Fallujah atrocity came to symbolize the brutality of the enemy in Iraq and the degree to which a homegrown insurgency was extending its grip over Iraq .
The four Blackwater agents were transporting supplies for a catering company when they were ambushed and killed by gunfire and grenades. Insurgents burned the bodies and dragged them through the city. They hanged two of the bodies on a bridge over the Euphrates River for the world press to photograph.
Intelligence sources identified Abed as the ringleader, but he had evaded capture until September.
The military is sensitive to charges of detainee abuse highlighted in the Abu Ghraib prison scandal. The Navy charged four SEALs with abuse in 2004 in connection with detainee treatment.

Branson, Mo. -- They have come from every state in the union -- more than 50,000 veterans and their families. They are here to celebrate "Veterans Homecoming Week" in a city that "never forgets our heroes," where businesses proclaim to "hire veterans first" and entertainers proudly announce the units with which they served -- to the applause and cheers of fellow soldiers, sailors, airmen, guardsmen and Marines. They come for reunions with comrades from campaigns in faraway places and to remember their shared sacrifice in long-ago battles. They come here because Tony Orlando's "Tie a Yellow Ribbon Round the Ole Oak Tree" melody means something special to them and because the parade down Branson's Main Street every Nov. 11 reminds them of -- well -- America.
For nearly a decade, it has been my great privilege to interview thousands of our active duty military personnel, veterans and their families. Fox News has sent me to every theater of war in which Americans have fought since World War II -- and given me the opportunity to keep company with heroes. For two years in a row, I have covered this remarkable celebration in Branson. Last year, it was just days after a presidential election, and among the thousands of vets and their families, there was a sense of "watchful waiting." Because Americans in general -- and veterans in particular -- are innately fair, they were willing to give a new commander in chief and his administration a chance. That "decent interval" is over.
This year, we arrived just four days after the terrible carnage at Fort Hood. Within hours, it was clear these veterans -- normally reticent, rarely outspoken, invariably polite -- are, in their terms, "fed up" with our national leadership.
The veterans who spoke with me in Branson this year do not represent all 20 million American veterans and their families, and this is hardly a "scientific sampling" of public opinion. Everyone here knows I work for Fox News. Most are fans of the network. Some are veterans I previously have interviewed for "War Stories" or for Fox News in Iraq, Afghanistan or here in Branson.
But these men and women really are a cross section of mainstream America. Most served a single "hitch" in the military. About 25 percent of them are "retirees." All of them self-identify as respected community leaders at home. Many have sons, daughters or grandchildren serving in today's armed forces. Some now serve or have served in local or state elected or appointed office, and many volunteered their party affiliations.
This year, as I always do, I asked, "What was the last unit with which you served; where; when; and what did you do when you left the service?" In no case did I ask about politics, nor did I solicit their opinions about the current White House.
Herewith, excerpts from responses elicited from nearly 10 hours of meetings during the course of two days with these great Americans:
"I served in the 82nd Airborne Division from 1942 to 1945. ... When I came back to the states, we got married, and I went to work for a car dealer. ... We eventually bought the dealership. Two of our sons served in Vietnam. ... What happened at Fort Hood isn't a 'tragedy'; it's a travesty. ... It should never have happened. ... The people who knew about this guy Hasan and did nothing to stop him ought to be fired. All of 'em."
"In 1950, I was six weeks out of boot camp when I landed with the 1st Marine Division at Inchon. ... We fought our way through Seoul all the way to the 'Frozen Chosin.' ... I retired in 1970 as a master gunnery sergeant after two tours in Vietnam. ... Both our sons served as officers in the Corps. ... Our daughter was a Navy nurse in Desert Storm. ... This crowd in Washington scares us. A few months ago, they were telling us that our biggest threat was disgruntled veterans and right-wing extremists. ... That's not who's killing Americans."
"I was drafted in 1969, served in Vietnam with the 1st Cav, was medically discharged from the Army in 1973 ... came home and married my high-school sweetheart. I used the GI Bill to get my degree, taught English for 20 years, and retired as the principal of our high school. ... We're Democrats. ... We're sick and tired of being told by this White House not to 'jump to conclusions or rush to judgment' about what happened at Fort Hood. ... How can the president tell us what this guy Hasan did is 'incomprehensible'? What don't they comprehend about militant Islamists?"
And from a young staff sergeant wearing a Purple Heart medal on his uniform and standing beside his pregnant wife: "I came in because of the attack on 9/11. I've done three combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. We agreed I was going to stay in. But if we're not in to win, I'm getting out."
Though the sentiments of these veterans may hearten opponents of the Obama administration, it is notable that the overwhelming complaint was leveled not only at the White House but also at Washington. Incumbents: Sound reveille.

Ft Hood shows why Obama should go - 11/13/2009
This commentary by Floyd Brown shows the lack of leadership by Obama in the Ft. Hood case, and the lack of military leadership in allowing Major Nidal M. Hasan to continue to serve. Obama and some senior military officers should be replaced and get the military back to doing its primary job.
Bruce
I have always enjoyed watching the mainstream media play catch up. It put a smile on my face to see that ABC News was “courageous” enough to call Major Nidal M. Hasan a “Soldier of Allah”.
I have been glued to the coverage of the Ft Hood shootings because it shows so clearly why Barack Obama cannot handle the job of president. This is prime material for those of us demanding his impeachment.
Here is what ABC News reported:
"United States Army Major Nidal Hasan proclaimed himself a 'soldier of Allah' on private business cards he obtained over the Internet and kept in a box at his apartment near Fort Hood, Texas.
Hasan, the alleged perpetrator of last week's fatal shootings in Fort Hood, TX, was charged Thursday with 13 counts of premeditated murder under Article 118 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which can carry a sentence up to death or life imprisonment.
The cards make no mention of his military affiliation, but underneath his name he listed himself as SoA (SWT). SoA is commonly used on jihadist Web sites as the acronym for Soldier of Allah, according to investigators and experts who have studied such sites. SWT is commonly used by Muslims as an acronym for Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, Glory to God.
'He was making no secret of allegiances,' said former FBI agent Brad Garrett, an ABC News consultant."
Funny, those of us following the FT Hood Jihad online learned the tale of the business card on the November 9th just after the shooting, thanks to the excellent work over at the blog Atlas Shrugs. I thank you Pamela Geller even if the arrogant “msm” types at ABC won’t reference your blockbuster early story.
Here is a column I penned for WorldNetDaily.com this morning on the whole Ft Hood bloodbath and what it says about BHO. I hope you enjoy it.
Jihad: Not in BHO's lexicon
President Obama needs to throw his "Muslims can do no evil" rose-colored glasses off and see the real world. After listening to remarks by Barack Hussein Obama in Fort Hood, Texas, we were struck by how unemotional he is to tragedy. That is, Obama appears to be genuinely mourning the victims of the brutal jihad-inspired massacre that left 13 dead; but even now, he refuses to understand the gravity of the events and underlying reasons that lead to this terrorist attack on America's valiant soldiers.
To Obama, terrorism and Islamist jihad are words stricken from his presidential lexicon. Without these words, you cannot adequately understand these brutal events on America's homeland. Jihad flows from very specific Islamic teachings. This attack was a premeditated act of unspeakable terrorism, including the ritual pre-jihad (pre-attack) cleansing routine caught in part on convenience store cameras. Politically correct denial of Islam's role in this bloodletting is foolishness and dangerous. And Obama and his administration will not be able to protect us against further similar acts if they continually refuse to admit reality.
What is the evidence to substantiate our claims?
The FBI knew that Fort Hood shooter Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan had communicated with a radical, extremist imam nearly a year before the attack. Yet, they wrongly determined the Army officer was no threat. Why was he categorized as a nonthreat? What official or officials cleared him? For what reason did they clear him?
We have learned from Rep. Pete Hoekstra of Michigan, the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, that the Obama administration knew months ago that Hasan and the radical Yemeni imam "had exchanged 10 to 20 e-mails."
The imam influencing the Muslim shooter is Anwar al-Awlaki. He was released from a jail in Yemen last year. Al-Awlaki writes an anti-American blog that repeatedly denounces the war on terror. He presided at the mosque in Falls Church, Va., that Hasan attended, a center known for radical Islamic teaching.
When will these radical mosques on American soil be shut down? We expect radical pro-jihad teaching and Islamic-fascism in the Middle East, but we don't need to accept it in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. We all enjoy freedom of religion, but not the freedom to incite others to violence, which is exactly what is happening in some American mosques.
The news that FBI Director Robert Mueller ordered "an internal investigation into whether the agency mishandled an 'assessment' of Hasan" is not enough. This investigation shouldn't be handled internally. We need an independent investigation to assess why the Obama administration's intelligence was so inadequate. No cover-ups to protect themselves this time. They're paid to protect American citizens, not themselves.
Why was no FBI agent still tracking Islamic extremist Hasan's activities and website postings?
Another scary thought. What other targets of investigations have been ruled nonthreats by these same officials who misjudged Hasan?
The Army is under intense pressure from liberals to become politically correct proponents of Islam and other so-called downtrodden minorities. Servicing pet causes of the Washington elite is not, nor has it ever been, the proper role of the military. They are a fighting machine with the very specific job of killing enemies. It is imperative that Americans be better informed about how the Obama administration is changing the military and allowing it to be infiltrated by Islamists.
A number of complaints were made to commanding Army officers about Hasan. What officer in the Army ignored those complaints and cleared Hasan for duty? Since Hasan is a psychiatrist, what was he saying to American soldiers when he counseled them?
According to the Washington Post, Hasan "warned a roomful of senior Army physicians a year and a half ago that to avoid 'adverse events,' the military should allow Muslim soldiers to be released as conscientious objectors instead of fighting in wars against other Muslims. As a senior-year psychiatric resident at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Maj. Nidal M. Hasan was supposed to make a presentation on a medical topic of his choosing as a culminating exercise of the residency program. Instead, in late June 2007, he stood before his supervisors and about 25 other mental health staff members and lectured on Islam, suicide bombers and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting in the Muslim countries of Iraq and Afghanistan."
Clearly, the Army cannot say they didn't know his views. The innocent souls murdered at Fort Hood will only rest in peace when the politically correct thought police who protected Hasan are court-martialed by the Army – and Obama trashes his rose-colored glasses while he is president.
Warm regards,
Floyd Brown

Clinton's Gun Free Zones at Military Bases - 11/13/2009
I don't know the source for this, but as I mentioned in another post, Bill Clinton's policies make no sense to me.
Bruce
A week ago there was a terrorist attack on one of our military bases which was the worst act of terrorism since 911. Even though our government fails to call it what it was, terrorism plain and simple. It appears that it’s not enough for our government that America’s armed forces risk their lives overseas defending our freedom. These days, our soldiers aren't even safe here at home stationed on secure military bases.
On November 5th, a lone gunman murdered 13 fully-trained, ready to deploy soldiers, and wounded 29 more, in the most shocking terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. Why was this shocking incident allowed to take place? On an army base with all the trained men and women, the best trained in the world, with all the weapons why was this allowed to happen? How was Nidal Hasan able to take down so many trained soldiers before he was stopped? The answer is simple: The base was a “gun-free safe zone.” Gun-free zones only help provide helpless targets for terrorist and mass murders.
It is because this government thinks it is better to keep its armed service members unarmed. That sounds silly, even stupid but the truth is the military men and woman of this country are prohibited and forbidden from carrying the weapons they are trained and trusted to use in the heat of battle on base. President Clinton was the person behind this thoughtless and foolish policy back in 1993 when he declared all military bases “Gun Free Zones.” We can trust theses men and women to fight our countries’ battles and to stop aggression, but we cannot trust them with guns on base. Now what is wrong with that picture? As a result of this thirteen people were killed and thirty more were wounded. The United States is in a war and we must take all the measures to protect our military and the civilian population that is possible. We must take measures like Israel. You do not see any gun-free zones in that tiny country. You see a country’s’ population ready for anything.
“Gun Free Zones” do nothing but reassure and guarantee criminals, and now terrorists, that they will find unarmed victims defenseless and helpless against their murderous and bloodthirsty rampage. It is easy to shoot at somebody that cannot shoot back. This must stop and people must wake up. If strict measures are not taken the same thing that happen at Fort Hood could happen in your home town and even on your door step. If guns are band, which by the way is right around the corner, how will the average citizen protect their self from people like Nidal Hasan. These people, with their ideology and beliefs are living in every small town and city in our country. With all due respect, how fast would your police department’s response time be? Will it be fast enough to save your life and the lives of your love ones, or would you end up like the soldiers at Fort Hood? Who knows where or how many sleeper cells are in this country. The government, actually, tells the American people very little about this. How can we count on a government that will not even call terrorist what they are: “TERRORIST”
Maybe I’m crazy, as some that read this might think, but I’d would have rather the soldiers delivered a barrage of bullets to end Hasan’s attack the second he opened fire. I’d rather Hasan was dead and the heroes he murdered were still alive. I rather for him to be dead instead of the thirty injured people that were shot by him and some critical. This is exactly what would have happen if they were allowed to carry their weapons. By the way soldiers go through more firearms training than the local police departments and yet it was the local police department that took this man down. They were allowed to carry guns on the base but the soldiers are not.
But because of Clinton’s ingenious policy of an unarmed armed force, this psychopathic terrorist, Nidal Hasan, systematically and methodically executed soldier after soldier before the local police could arrive on the scene. If we didn't have “Gun Free Zones” and our armed forces were armed, Nadir Hasan would have met bullets instead of bodies. He would have been dead instead of the brave soldiers that are.

Obama gives aid to our enemies - 11/16/2009
More on Obama's treason with Floyd Brown.
Bruce
“Treason is any attempt to overthrow the government or impair the well-being of a state to which one owes allegiance; the crime of giving aid or comfort to the enemies of one's government,” according to the Random House Dictionary. By that definition, Barack Hussein Obama and his Attorney General Eric Holder should be impeached.
By ordering that the trial of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the self-proclaimed mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on America, be in a federal courtroom, Barack Obama’s administration has seriously undermined your safety.
If these trials are allowed to go forward, they will do more damage to America than any single act since our withdrawal from Vietnam dooming Saigon and the people of Southeast Asia to communism and genocide.
For seven years after the 9-11 attack, the US Government has done an outstanding job of keeping us safe. Under the leadership of the Bush Administration with the approval of the US Congress, our soldiers and CIA operatives scoured the world for terrorists. They brought those terrorists to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and kept them from killing more Americans.
Last year, Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and his band of thugs tried pleaing guilty to murder and asked to be sent to Allah. At the time under pressure from the Left, the Bush Administration created a military commission designated with the task of bringing them to justice.
By canceling this process for the Islamic radicals in Guantanamo, Obama has guaranteed that the CIA and the other foreign and domestic government agencies will have their secrets paraded before the largest television audience in world history.
According to legal experts, it may be impossible to present evidence that would confirm their guilt, and the reputation of America will once again be dragged through the mud. K. S. Mohammed will be particularly difficult to prosecute in the US because his defense lawyers will twist it and put the United States on trial, arguing that he was illegally tortured by the CIA. America learned vital information that thwarted additional attacks by waterboarding him.
Writing in National Review, Andrew McCarthy said:
“We are now going to have a trial that never had to happen for defendants who have no defense. And when defendants have no defense for their own actions, there is only one thing for their lawyers to do: put the government on trial in hopes of getting the jury (and the media) spun up over government errors, abuses and incompetence. That is what is going to happen in the trial of KSM et al. It will be a soapbox for al-Qaeda's case against America. Since that will be their "defense," the defendants will demand every bit of information they can get about interrogations, renditions, secret prisons, undercover operations targeting Muslims and mosques, etc., and — depending on what judge catches the case — they are likely to be given a lot of it. The administration will be able to claim that the judge, not the administration, is responsible for the exposure of our defense secrets. And the circus will be played out for all to see — in the middle of the war. It will provide endless fodder for the transnational Left to press its case that actions taken in America's defense are violations of international law that must be addressed by foreign courts. And the intelligence bounty will make our enemies more efficient at killing us.”
The damage that Barack Hussein Obama is continuing to afflict on the brave men and women who are protecting and defending us is unconscionable. How could you not call providing these murdering thugs all of the legal protections afforded an American Citizen anything but aid and comfort? If no earlier action demanded his impeachment, this sole act of treason does.
This is proof that BHO hates the America we love. No wonder he failed to salute the honored dead at a recent ceremony. Don’t believe me. Believe your own eyes.

Where Do We Get These Men and Women? - 11/11/2009

Where Do We Get These Men and Women?
By Newt Gingrich
This Veterans Day, I am reminded once again of the wonderful line at the end of the movie adaptation of James Michener's The Bridges at Toko Ri.
A Navy Admiral is reflecting on the sacrifice of airmen given the mission of destroying a group of heavily defended bridges during the Korean War. The men were successful, but at the cost of their lives, leading the Admiral to famously ask: "Where do we get these men?"
Today, the question is "Where do we get these men and women?" and last week, the answer was Killeen, Texas.
Answer: Killeen, Texas
Killeen is the home of heroes this Veterans Day; men and women who prove that our servicemen and women don't leave their bravery and selflessness behind on the battlefield.
Killeen was also the site of terrorism last week; proof that we are not immune from Islamic extremism inside our borders, even on our military bases. Killeen is the home of Sgt. Kimberly Munley, a Department of Defense civilian police officer and an Army veteran.
Sgt. Munley was nearby getting her car tuned-up when the 911 call came in. Without waiting for backup, she was the first law enforcement official to arrive on the scene at Fort Hood.
"She Fired Until He Dropped. The Killing Ended."
Much has been written about Sgt. Munley's heroism, but few have described her behavior in the heat of a confrontation with the Fort Hood shooter better than the editorial writers at the Las Vegas Review-Sun.
"Could Sgt. Munley, hit in the wrist and both thighs, really be blamed if she'd ducked for cover? She didn't. From all reports, she stood her ground under fire, calmly reacquiring her sight picture, putting four rounds right where she wanted, in the advancing murderer's center of mass. She fired until he dropped. The killing ended."
The Heroes Who Brought Down the Berlin Wall
This Veterans Day week also marks the celebration of another set of American heroes: The men and women who put their shoulders to the Berlin Wall and pushed - until it finally fell 20 years ago this Monday.
Where did we get these men and women? From all across America and everywhere freedom and human dignity are valued.
For although the revolution in Eastern Europe occurred without a shot being fired, countless Americans - not to mention Britons, Germans, Poles, Czechs, Slovaks and Hungarians - sacrificed for that day.
Before there was a wall in Berlin, there was the Berlin blockade in 1948, when the Communist regime in Moscow tried to literally starve West Berlin to death. President Harry S. Truman ordered an airlift to feed West Berliners and resist Soviet aggression. Seventy-one American and British servicemen lost their lives.
And before there was a victory for freedom, 20 years ago this week, there were unflinching advocates for freedom in Eastern Europe like Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II.
These are the heroes we honor today.
Washington Seems More at Home with International Dictators Than America and Its Heroes
"Hero" is not a word we use a lot these days. We have a media dedicated to destroying, not showcasing, greatness. We have popular culture determined to celebrate victimhood rather than heroism. And we have a regime in Washington that seems more at home with international autocrats and dictators than America and its heroes.
But the inescapable fact of America is this: Ours is a country founded and defended, not by conciliation and sophisticated diplomatic gestures, but by honor, bravery and sacrifice.
Our heroes are not incidental to our nationhood but an essential part of it. Why? Because America is not, contrary to what our President believes, merely a nation among nations. We are, on our best days, closer to what Ronald Reagan believed: A shining city on a hill.
Take the Time Today to Thank a Veteran For His Service
The heroes of our city on a hill stretch back from Killeen, Texas, through a bloody 20th Century and a great Civil War, all the way to our founding.
They are the men who left a trail of blood in the snow of Northern Pennsylvania on Christmas night, 1776.
They are the men and women who serve today in Iraq and Afghanistan.
So make sure you take the time today to thank a veteran for his or her service. Take the time to remember and honor a hero.
Because in doing so you are answering the Navy Admiral's question at Toko Ri.
Where do we get these men and women? From a nation that remains worthy of their sacrifice.

Obama fails to mention terrorism at Ft. Hood - 11/11/2009
It seems that every day Obama chips away at our freedom. Don't let him succeed.

Barack Obama fails to mention Terrorism at Ft Hood Memorial
Barack Obama sounded foolish yesterday at the memorial service for the 13 fall heroes at Ft Hood in Texas. He sounded foolish because he refuses to acknowledge the culpability of radical Islam in the events. He wants to divorce the beliefs of Nidal M. Hasan from murderous rampage
Mounting evidence such as dozens of emails to the radical Imam with ties to the 9-11 hijackers, Anwar al-Awlaki, formally of Falls Church Virginia and recently of Yemen on the Arabian Peninsula, demonstrate that Obama and the Army brass are in denial about Hasan. This was a premeditated act of jihad right down to the ritual cleansing robes captured that morning on a security cam.
The Washington Post even reported an explosive presentation given by Hasan to Army officers outlining his radical ideas. No denying their knowledge now:
“As a senior-year psychiatric resident at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Maj. Nidal M. Hasan was supposed to make a presentation on a medical topic of his choosing as a culminating exercise of the residency program.
Instead, in late June 2007, he stood before his supervisors and about 25 other mental health staff members and lectured on Islam, suicide bombers and threats the military could encounter from Muslims conflicted about fighting in the Muslim countries of Iraq and Afghanistan, according to a copy of the presentation obtained by The Washington Post.
‘It's getting harder and harder for Muslims in the service to morally justify being in a military that seems constantly engaged against fellow Muslims,’ he said in the presentation.
‘It was really strange,’ said one staff member who attended the presentation and spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the investigation of Hasan. ‘The senior doctors looked really upset’ at the end.”
Obama, the Army and the FBI should have removed him from the officer corp after this presentation alone. But the new Obama Army turns its head and ignores radical Islamic jihadist officers in its own ranks.
Obama Subsidizing America’s Islamic Adversaries
If ignoring the jihadists in America isn’t bad enough, how about subsidizing them. The Canada Free Press reports in a story sure to be spiked in the lapdog media the whole story:
“'Islamic jihadists remain the most serious threat against America today, despite President Barack Obama’s effort to improve U.S. relations with the Muslim world,' observes Jim Jacobson, president of Christian Freedom International. Unfortunately, 'Islamic radicals have not reciprocated the president’s attempted outreach.'
Earlier this year the president made a celebrated speech in Cairo to promote better relations with the Islamic world but, notes Jacobson, 'the primary problem is the hostility of organized Islam to members of other faiths.' That hostility starts with persecution against Christians, Jews, and other religious minorities in Muslim nations around the globe.
Now the administration has created a new and expensive technology fund for Islamic countries. The Overseas Private Investment Corporation is providing up to $150 million to 'catalyze and facilitate private sector investments.' Target industries include computers and telecommunications.”
Why create jobs in America when we can create them for our enemies?
Obama Flees America’s Problems
No wonder Obama is leaving the country. Whenever the job gets too tough this weak man heads for the exits. This week's stop on Obama’s great adventure is South Asia. NewsMax Reports:
“Barack Obama this week makes his first trip to Asia as president, leaving behind a host of domestic problems with a visit that recognizes the region's economic and diplomatic importance to the United States.
The trip, which starts on Thursday, will take Obama to an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Singapore.
But the critical leg will come in China, where Obama will have to navigate an increasingly complex relationship with the country that is the largest holder of U.S. foreign debt and its second-largest trading partner.”
Let’s hope he does better in China than he did in Britain. They are still talking in London about how he offended Queen Elizabeth.
One of the reasons Obama deserves to be impeached is he spends more time traveling than dealing with an economy which continues to sink under his leadership. WND.com’s Jerome Corsi reported recently that the real unemployment rate is over 22 percent.
Talk to you tonight on CPNlive.com.

Senior moments some of us can relate to
As a change in pace, Ed B. sent me the following jokes. Say "Good night, Ed."

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Garage Door
The boss walked into the office one morning not knowing his zipper was down and his fly area wide open. His assistant walked up to him and said, 'This morning when you left your house, did you close your garage door?' The boss told her he knew he'd closed the garage door, and walked into his office puzzled by the question.
As he finished his paperwork, he suddenly noticed his fly was open, and zipped it up. He then understood his assistant's question about his 'garage door.'
He headed out for a cup of coffee and paused by her desk to ask, 'When my garage door was open, did you see my Hummer parked in there?'
She smiled and said, 'No, I didn't. All I saw was an old mini van with two flat tires.....
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An elderly gentleman.... .
Had serious hearing problems for a number of years. He went to the doctor and the doctor was able to have him fitted for a set of hearing aids that allowed the gentleman to hear 100%
The elderly gentleman went back in a month to the doctor and the doctor said, 'Your hearing is perfect. Your family must be really pleased that you can hear again.'
The gentleman replied, 'Oh, I haven't told my family yet.
I just sit around and listen to the conversations. I've changed my will three times!'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Two elderly gentlemen from a retirement center were sitting on a bench under a tree when one turns to the other and says: 'Slim, I'm 83 years old now and I'm just full of aches and pains. I know you're about my age. How do you feel?'
Slim says, 'I feel just like a newborn baby.'
'Really!? Like a newborn baby!?'
'Yep. No hair, no teeth, and I think I just wet my pants.'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen..
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said, 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great... I would recommend it very highly.'
The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?'
The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know.... The one that's red and has thorns.'
'Do you mean a rose?'
'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hospital regulations require a wheel chair for patients being discharged. However, while working as a student nurse, I found one elderly gentleman already dressed and sitting on the bed with a suitcase at his feet, who insisted he didn't need my help to leave the hospital.
After a chat about rules being rules, he reluctantly let me wheel him to the elevator.
On the way down I asked him if his wife was meeting him.
'I don't know,' he said. 'She's still upstairs in the bathroom changing out of her hospital gown.'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Couple in their nineties are both having problems remembering things.. During a checkup, the doctor tells them that they're physically okay, but they might want to start writing things down to help them remember ...
Later that night, while watching TV, the old man gets up from his chair. 'Want anything while I'm in the kitchen?' he asks.
'Will you get me a bowl of ice cream?'
'Sure..'
'Don't you think you should write it down so you can remember it?' she asks.
'No, I can remember it.'
'Well, I'd like some strawberries on top, too.. Maybe you should write it down, so as not to forget it?'
He says, 'I can remember that. You want a bowl of ice cream with strawberries. '
'I'd also like whipped cream. I'm certain you'll forget that, write it down?' she asks.
Irritated,20he says, 'I don't need to write it down, I can remember it! Ice cream with strawberries and whipped cream - I got it, for goodness sake!'
Then he toddles into the kitchen. After about 20 minutes, The old man returns from the kitchen and hands his wife a plate of bacon and eggs.. She stares at the plate for a moment.
'Where's my toast?'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A senior citizen said to his eighty-year old buddy:
'So I hear you're getting married?'
'Yep!'
'Do I know her?'
'Nope!'
'This woman, is she good looking?'
'Not really.'
'Is she a good cook?'
'Naw, she can't cook too well.'
'Does she have lots of money?'
'Nope! Poor as a church mouse.'
'Well, then, is she good in bed?'
'I don't know.'
'Why in the world do you want to marry her then?'
'Because she can still drive!'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A man wa s telling his neighbor, 'I just bought a new hearing aid. It cost me four thousand dollars, but it's state of the art.. It's perfect.'
'Really,' answered the neighbor . 'What kind is it?'
'Twelve thirty.....'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Morris, an 82 year-old man, went to the doctor to get a physical.
A few days later, the doctor saw Morris walking down the street with a gorgeous young woman on his arm.
A couple of days later, the doctor spoke to Morris and said, 'You're really doing great, aren't you?'
Morris replied, 'Just doing what you said, Doc: 'Get a hot mamma and be cheerful''
The doctor said, 'I didn't say that.. I said, 'You've got a heart murmur; be careful.'
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
One more. . .!
A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool.. After catching his breath, he ordered a banana split.
The waitress asked kindly, 'Crushed nuts?'
'No,' he replied, 'Arthritis.'
Now, before you 'forget', share them with some other folks you know who could use a good laugh! Which is why I posted them here!

U.S. troops' continental insignia bears U.N. colors 11/7/2009
Leaders in the USA, Canada and Mexico have agreed to join the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America, or SPP. The leaders have done this on their own, and this agreement has not been ratified by the US Senate. We shall wait to see what happens next.
Bruce
"WorldNetDaily repeatedly has reported the unannounced goal of the SPP was to create a North American Union by advancing the trade integration realized in NAFTA into continental political integration through the creation of some 20 trilateral bureaucratic working groups and the North American Competitiveness Council, or NACC, composed of 30 North American business executives – 10 each hand-picked by the chambers of commerce in the three countries."

Jihad's 5th Column - 11/6/2009
If you ever served in the military this will make your blood boil.
Bruce
War On Terror: The Fort Hood terrorist is being portrayed as an "anomaly," an "aberration," a "lone wolf." Sadly, he's just one of many examples of jihadist traitors in the ranks of the military.
Together they form a dangerous Fifth Column, and the Pentagon — thanks to institutionalized political correctness — is doing next to nothing to root them out .
Instead, brass are actively recruiting Muslim soldiers — whose ranks have swelled to more than 15,000 — and catering to their faith by erecting mosques even at Marine headquarters in Quantico, Va. More, they're hiring Muslim chaplains endorsed by radical Islamic front groups, who convert and radicalize soldiers.
In the wake of the worst domestic military-base massacre in U.S. history, this is an outrage to say the least. And the PC blinders explain how Fort Hood commanders could have failed so horrifically in protecting their force from the internal threat there.
The terrorist suspect, an Islamic fanatic, penetrated deep into the Army's officer corps before gunning down, execution-style, more than 40 of his fellow soldiers. Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan allegedly killed 13 at the Texas post, which boasts some 40 Muslims.
Witnesses say he shouted "Allahu Akbar" — Allah is great! — before opening fire in a crowded building where troops were sitting ducks, waiting to deploy to Iraq and
Afghanistan, both wars that Hasan angrily opposed. "Muslims should stand up and fight the aggressor," he reportedly said earlier this year, referring to the U.S. — the country he swore to protect.
During the invasion of Iraq in March 2003, another devout Muslim in the Army had a similar conflict. Sgt. Hasan Akbar also resorted to violence, fragging 17 fellow soldiers, killing two.
Why? He opposed the killing of fellow Muslims. "You guys are coming into our countries, and you're going to rape our women and kill our children," he was overheard by soldiers who survived the grenade attack as saying.
Clearly, his loyalties lay elsewhere. And he's hardly alone:
• Navy Signalman Hassan Abujihaad last year was convicted of tipping off al-Qaida to battle group movements in the Persian Gulf, including disclosing classified documents detailing the group's vulnerability to terror attack.
• Army reservist Jeffrey Battle in 2003 pleaded guilty to conspiring to wage war against the U.S., confessing he enlisted "to receive military training to use against America."
• Army reservist Semi Osman in 2002 was arrested for providing material support to al-Qaida and pleaded guilty to weapons charges after agreeing to testify against other terror suspects.
• Marine Abdul Raheem al-Arshad Ali trained at a suspected al-Qaida camp and was charged with selling a semi-automatic handgun to Osman.
• Army Sgt. Ali Mohamed trained Green Berets at Fort Bragg's elite special warfare school before stealing military secrets for al-Qaida and helping plan bombings at three U.S. embassies in 1998.
• Army Spec. Ryan Anderson in 2004 was convicted of leaking military intelligence to al-Qaida terrorists, including sensitive information about the vulnerabilities of armored Humvees.
• Army sniper John Muhammad was put on death row after fatally shooting 10 in the nation's capital a year after 9/11.
While good and decent Muslim soldiers have served admirably, the list of those who have put their allegiance to Islam above country is long, and this is by no means an exhaustive accounting.
The Pentagon must do a better job of vetting such recruits. And it must do a better job of force protection — starting with beefing up its counterspying operations — before more intelligence is compromised and more soldiers are lost.

Watching Election Returns
This message is from Floyd Brown, who founded the Impeach Obama campaign.
Bruce
The White House announced that Barack Obama wasn’t watching the election returns tonight. Maybe this is because Rahm Emanuel and the sycophants that surround him don’t have the courage to tell him his leftist agenda is unpopular. Government run Health care is unpopular. Huge new energy taxes are unpopular. His dithering in Afghanistan is unpopular. His bailouts and America’s rampant joblessness is unpopular.
I am watching the election returns, and I have to admit that I feel some limited relief. This is a sign that Americans have returned to their good senses. The election of Bob McDonnellas Governor of Virginia and Chris Christieas Governor of New Jersey should be a wakeup call to Washington.
Americans are tired of the big government solution to our problems. Americans don’t want entitlements, they want a job. Americans don’t want a hand out, they want self respect. Barack Obama should be watching the election returns. If he was smart he would learn from tonight and take America down a less radical path.
But we know he won’t do the right thing because he is a committed radical, and he is executing a plan he hopes will be the end of traditional America. He wants to replace America with a socialist utopia dreamed up by a worthless philosopher with the name of Karl Marx.
Our best hope is that the congressional Democrats that are elected in districts which John McCainand George W. Bush carried will hear the message. We need their votes to defeat the Obama/Pelosi/Reid big government agenda.
Don’t Stop Now
Our impeachment campaign received a tremendous boost tonight because of these elections. For us to be successful in removing this illegitimate president, the US Congress must change. All of our energy for the next year has to be targeted at getting more conservatives elected to the US Congress.
If you have not yet posted a link to our petition on your blog or website or shared it with your friends on Facebook, I suggest the aftermath of this exciting election victory is a good time to share it. If we see major changes in Congress during 2010 the impeachment campaign will succeed.
Currently 70,000 Americans have joined our cause. When we have 30,000 more I will begin approaching members of Congress to introduce the Articles of Impeachment.

Media coverage of our impeachment campaign remains brisk. I have been on three to five radio shows every day this last week. One of my favorites is CPNLive.comwith Stan Solomon, and you can listen to it anytime at your convenience. Coming up on November 11th we will have an hour long special about impeachment airing on CPNLive.com, and I hope you will join us.
Finally, the push to defeat Obamacare is critical this week. Nancy Pelosi has said that she doesn’t care how many Democrat seats are lost, she wants the bill passed. The Wall Street Journal put it all in perspective when they wrote this week:
“The health bill she unwrapped last Thursday, which President Obama hailed as a 'critical milestone,' may well be the worst piece of post-New Deal legislation ever introduced.
In a rational political world, this 1,990-page runaway train would have been derailed months ago. With spending and debt already at record peacetime levels, the bill creates a new and probably unrepealable middle-class entitlement that is designed to expand over time. Taxes will need to rise precipitously, even as ObamaCare so dramatically expands government control of health care that eventually all medicine will be rationed via politics.”
If this bill passes it may be as they say “unrepealable” and it will lead to sub standard health care for all Americans over time. Obama cannot be allowed to destroy the best health care system in the world on the altar of utopian socialism. Please make your voice heard loud and clear in the next few days to your local Congressman.
We won tonight, and we can win this next battle over Obamacare.
Warm regards,
Floyd Brown

Keepers
Received from Wayne E. 11/3/2009. Thank you. I pass it on to my family and friends.

KEEPERS
I grew up with practical grandparents who had been frightened by the Great Depression in the 1930's. A mother, God love her, who washed aluminum foil after she cooked in it, then reused it. She was the original recycle queen, before they had a Name for it... A father who was happier getting old shoes fixed than buying new ones. Their marriage was good, their dreams focused. Their best friends lived barely a wave away. I can see them now, Dad in trousers, tee shirt and a hat and Mom in a house dress, lawn mower in one hand, and dish-towel in the other. It was the time for fixing things; a curtain rod, the kitchen radio, screen door, the oven door, the hem in a dress. Things we keep.
It was a way of life, and sometimes it made me crazy. All that repairing, eating, reusing, I wanted just once to be wasteful. Waste meant affluence. Throwing things away meant you knew there'd always be more..
But then my mother died, and on that clear summer's night, in the warmth of the hospital room, I was struck with the pain of learning that sometimes there isn't any more.
Sometimes, what we care about most gets all used up and goes away...never to return. So.. While we have it... it's best we love it... And care for it.... And fix it when it's broken..... And heal it when it's sick.
This is true... For marriage.... And old cars.... And children with bad report cards..... And dogs and cats with bad hips.... And aging parents.... And grandparents. We keep them because they are worth it, because we are worth it. Some things we keep. Like a best friend that moved away or a classmate we grew up with.
There are just some things that make life important, like people we know who are special.... And so, we keep them close!
I received this from someone who thinks I am a 'keeper,' so I've sent it to the people I think of in the same way... Now it's your turn to send this to those people who are 'keepers' in your life. Send it back to the person who sent it to you if they, too, are a keeper. Good friends are like stars.. You don't always see them, but you know they are always there.
Keep them close...........

WE THE PEOPLE ARE WATCHING - 11/4/2009
Here are some questions for Congress about government-run programs. Thanks to Ed B. for these.
Bruce
To the Congress:
The U.S. Postal Service was established in 1775 - you have had 234 years to get it right; it is broke.
Social Security was established in 1935 - you have had 74 years to get it right; it is broke.
Fannie Mae was established in 1938 - you have had 71 years to get it right; it is broke.
The "War on Poverty" started in 1964 - you have had 45 years to get it right; $1 trillion of our money is confiscated each year and transferred to "the poor"; it hasn't worked and our entire country is broke.
Medicare and Medicaid were established in 1965 - you've had 44 years to get it right; they are broke.
Freddie Mac was established in 1970 - you have had 39 years to get it right; it is broke.
Trillions of dollars were spent in the massive political payoffs called TARP, the "Stimulus", the Omnibus Appropriations Act of 2009... none show any signs of working, although ACORN appears to have found a new source: the American taxpayer.
And finally, to set a new record:
"Cash for Clunkers" was established in 2009 and went broke in 2009! It took cars (that were the best some people could afford) and replaced them with high-priced and less-affordable cars, mostly Japanese. A good percentage of the profits went out of the country. And the American taxpayers take the hit for Congress' generosity in burning three billion more of our dollars on failed experiments.
So with a perfect 100% failure rate and a record that proves that "services" you shove down our throats are failing faster and faster, you want Americans to believe you can be trusted with a government-run health care system?
20% of our entire economy?
With all due respect,
Are you crazy?

Now, the Supreme Court came out with this big free speech decision yesterday. It's sweeping. It is huge. Did you hear Obama's response? Obama said that he needs to develop a forceful response to this decision. The public interest requires nothing else, a forceful response. Now, I want to point out that Obama was a law professor, or technically a senior lecturer at the University of Chicago law school for 12 years. Now, why would a law professor oppose a Supreme Court decision on a matter of constitutional law and not respect the authority of the court and honor our system of separation of powers? Why? Of course it's easy. Because he doesn't like the Constitution. And this we know. He thinks the Constitution restrains him and restricts him for doing things to people. The Constitution spells out what the government may not do, and that's what he doesn't like.

Many years ago Lee Atwater suggested I read the National Enquirer. I was surprised that he made tabloids part of this extensive reading regime. At the time he was the most successful political operative in America. He explained his reasoning by saying tabloids helped him understand what the men and women standing in grocery checkout stands were reading and thinking.
Today I still read these publications to keep my own finger on the pulse of America. The tabloids have broken some of the biggest stories in recent history. John Edwards’s mistress and love child and the Monica Lewinsky relationship are just two political scandals they had early. It was the tabloids that gave us the graphic details of the Monica Lewinsky tryst, and explained the significance of stains on the blue dress.
The tabloids are now full of stories about how the current occupant at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue is dealing with the pressures of office. In an exclusive report this week the Globe is reporting on a dramatic White House meltdown by the messiah–in-chief.
Under the headline “Obama Explodes” they report: “First lady Michelle Obama was reduced to tears by an explosive presidential tirade, say political insiders. In a world exclusive, sources tell GLOBE why Barack Obama has gone berserk and rip the lid off the details of his secret meltdown.”
Obama is having trouble with the pressure of the job.
According to the report, Obama has created an enemies list which has FOXNEWS host Glenn Beck on top. This would not be surprising since Beck has done such a wonderful job exposing the radical statements of many of Obama’s socialist pals running the government.
Obama may be going berserk with fury, but he still is a formidable enemy of freedom and liberty. I carefully read all of the messages sent to the activists that form the backbone of Barack Obama’s army for change. I am able to glean important information that we can use in the battle to defeat his radical agenda for America.
This weekend these activists are celebrating and preparing for the battle ahead. Here is an excerpt from the latest Obama team message:
“One year ago today, we were in the homestretch of the Obama for America campaign. I had been organizing on the ground in Ohio for months, with hundreds of incredible -- and exhausted -- staff, and thousands and thousands of amazing volunteers.
We were hopeful, but we didn't take anything for granted. As we watched the victorious results of your hard work come in -- state-by-state, county-by-county, precinct-by-precinct -- we were completely elated. I'm sure you felt the same way.
But that work wasn't finished, and it still isn't. That night, President-Elect Obama told us that the election victory was only the beginning of the change we all sought -- and today, through Organizing for America, we're fighting just as hard to make health insurance reform a reality, this year.”
As you can see from the message, these activists are focused on passing Obamacare. They believe that once their bill is passed, taking over 20 percent of the US economy, then weak willed Republicans won’t repeal it even if they win a majority in the US Congress next year.
It is more important than ever that we continue to focus on defeating this dangerous legislation.
Finally, the highlight of the Sunday news shows was the appearance of Rush Limbaugh on FOXNEWS Sunday with Chris Wallace. If you haven’t watched the video, you are missing a treat. Rush slammed Obama calling him “immature,” "narcissistic," and "inexperienced," and a “radical leader.”
“He’s a child. I think he’s got a five minute career,” Limbaugh surmised.
With impeachment we are hoping it won’t last that long.

Bungling Nuclear Weapons Negotiations - 10/30/2009
What a mistake to have Obama, an inexperienced amateur, handling nuclear weapons policy.

"How can a theocratic government with a stone-age worldview take the most sophisticated, modern, industrialized nation in the world for a ride, as if we just fell off the turnip truck?"

Iran Nukes: The mullahs ruling Islamofascist Iran are having a fine laugh at the easily beguiled infidels running U.S. foreign policy. First they agree to a nuclear "diplomatic breakthrough." Then they say no.
The week before last, when Iran's negotiators agreed to send most of its enriched uranium out of the country, diplomats in the U.S. and Europe were popping the champagne corks.
But last week Iranian officials backtracked on the agreement reached in Vienna to send three-quarters of its nuclear material to Russia for processing, after which it would be returned. Some 2,600 pounds of uranium was to be shipped by mid-January.
The pact was supposed to give the U.S. a year of extra time to work its negotiating magic on the Islamist terror state, as well as hold off an attack by Israel on Iran's nuclear facilities.
In 1981, out of self defense, the Jewish state successfully used F-16s to bomb Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor.
On Friday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu used a meeting with U.S. Mideast envoy George Mitchell to endorse, albeit cautiously, the agreement the U.S. thought it had, apparently in an attempt to be seen as part of a united international front opposing Iran rather than a hawkish outsider.
The International Atomic Energy Agency head, Mohamed ElBaradei, with little time left in his tenure, reportedly came secretly to Washington to "talk about what to do" if the deal with Iran failed, several American officials told the New York Times.
Iran now wants to keep its uranium until it gets fuel from the West. And this change of mind comes right after dubiously re-elected Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared: "We welcome cooperation on nuclear fuel, power plants and technology, and we are ready to cooperate."
While he was at it, Ahmadinejad last Thursday said he expected recompense for the more than $1 billion Iran spent helping build a French reactor under the Shah, and for which Iran was supposed to get access to nuclear fuel.
Even if the Vienna deal had stuck, it makes a mockery of three U.N. Security Council declarations by legitimizing Tehran's violations of the U.N. and allowing this fanatical, terrorist-supporting regime to continue its "peaceful" nuclear program.
The Senate Banking Committee on Thursday gave the go-ahead for stronger sanctions against Iran, following similar action by the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and banning most trade with the regime.
How can a theocratic government with a stone-age worldview take the most sophisticated, modern, industrialized nation in the world for a ride, as if we just fell off the turnip truck?
Because those who run Iran realize they are engaged in a global war. Those who now run American foreign policy, on the other hand, think "war on terror" is passe. Peace must be given a chance first, they think. And "yes, we can" make it work, without firing a shot. Hope will triumph.
Sounds nice, doesn't it? But it is the naivete of Neville Chamberlain and the piece of paper he waved bearing Hitler's autograph.
