Obama's DHS seizing local power
This isn't the first time that Obama's Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has been running out of control on an ongoing basis. It is Obama's private Army long run outside Congressional approval like most of our government. It seems that DHS sees terrorists threatening us behind every tree, including those unstable veterans, and is therefore justified to use military force to "protect" us, for our benefit of course.

'In “Impeachable Offenses: The Case to Remove Barack Obama from Office,” New York Times bestselling authors Aaron Klein and Brenda J. Elliott document the DHS has likely violated the Posse Comitatus Act.
The law expressly forbids direct participation by the military in a “search, seizure, arrest, or other similar activity.”
The authors further cite evidence the DHS is building a de facto domestic military, with the purchase of military-grade equipment and the execution of military-style training exercises.
Perhaps the DHS is the realization of Obama’s call for a civilian national security force, warn Klein and Elliott.
In his July 2, 2008, “New Era of Service” address delivered at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, presidential candidate Obama said: “We cannot continue to rely only on our military in order to achieve the national security objectives we’ve set. … We’ve got to have a civilian national security force that’s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well funded.”
...
A 2007 act authorized the TSA to use any DHS asset for its VIPR teams, including federal air marshals, transportation security officers, surface transportation security inspectors, canine detection teams, explosives detection specialists, behavior detection officers and federal, state and local law enforcement officers. As an extension of the TSA, VIPR teams may be found screening passengers, looking for suspicious behavior and acting as a “visible deterrent for potential terrorist acts.
...
Amazingly, black helicopters – often attributed only to conspiracy theorists’ imaginations – were involved with VIPR team operations the following month. A pair of black helicopters was noted flying low over the perimeter at Yeager Airport in Charleston, W.V., as part of a two-day VIPR operation.
...
In the largest VIPR extravaganza to date, in mid-June 2010 the TSA pulled out all the stops with an operation that incorporated terrain in three states – Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia.
...
Klein and Elliott bill their book as a well-documented indictment based on major alleged violations.
Among the alleged offenses enumerated in the book:
Obamacare not only is unconstitutional but illegally bypasses Congress, infringes on states’ rights and marking an unprecedented and unauthorized expansion of IRS power.
Sidestepping Congress, Obama already has granted largely unreported de facto amnesty to millions of illegal aliens using illicit interagency directives and executive orders.
The Obama administration recklessly endangered the public by releasing from prison criminal illegal aliens at a rate far beyond what is publicly known.
The president’s personal role in the Sept. 11, 2012, Benghazi attack, with new evidence regarding what was transpiring at the U.S. mission prior to the assault – arguably impeachable activities in and of themselves.
Illicit edicts on gun control in addition to the deadly “Fast and Furious” gun-running operation intended, the book shows, to collect fraudulent gun data.
From “fusion centers” to data mining to drones to alarming Department of Homeland Security power grabs, how U.S. citizens are fast arriving at the stage of living under a virtual surveillance regime.
New evidence of rank corruption, cronyism and impeachable offenses related to Obama’s first-term “green” funding adventures.
The illegality of leading a U.S.-NATO military campaign without congressional approval.
Obama has weakened America both domestically and abroad by emboldening enemies, tacitly supporting a Muslim Brotherhood revolution, spurning allies and minimizing the threat of Islamic fundamentalism.'

Are Americans Living in a Police State?
Alan Caruba of Canada Free Press has this shocking story to tell, "Are Americans Living in a Police State?" and he has a link to another shocking story Of "Obama’s Police State: A List of Obama’s 55 Worst Assaults on Civil Liberties" that I will post also right after I post Alan's.
Believe them or not. It is always up to you to decide, but I feel it is imperative for me as a person to warn my readers of what appears to be potentially a very dangerous situation.
Notice how often Obama issues executive orders when the population is absorbed in a holiday.

'The thing about a police state is that it tends to creep up on you. One day you think the Bill of Rights is intact and the freedoms you take for granted are intact, but the next day you find out that under the National Defense Authorization Act (HR 1540), signed into law by President Obama on December 31, 2011, you can be arrested and detained without recourse to an attorney or the courts.
HR 1540 kills the concept of Habeas Corpus by permitting the detention of U.S. citizens without trial. In 2009 the National Emergency Centers Act, HR 645, was introduced for the establishment of “internment camps.” I have not been able to determine if it was passed and signed into law, nor have I found any explanation why the Congress of the United States either passed or even considered these laws.
The 2001 Patriot Act was justified as a response to 9/11 and revised in 2012. It gives the government unprecedented powers of surveillance and enforcement in the name of deterring terrorism.
...
One can find a list of actions by the Obama administration that, together, portray preparations for the implementation of a police state as Americans are detained, as per a DHS report, because they are deemed to be potential terrorists because they hold beliefs and ideologies that include:
•“being fiercely nationalistic (as opposed to international in orientation)”
•“anti-global”
•“suspicious of centralized federal authority”
•“reverent of individual liberty”
•“believe in conspiracy theories”
•“a belief that one’s personal and/or national ‘way of life’ is under attack”
•“a belief in the need to be prepared for an attack either by participating in paramilitary preparations and training or survivalism”
•“impose strict religious tenets or laws on society (fundamentalists)”
•“anti-abortion”
And those are just some of the “suspicious” activities or beliefs that can get you hauled off to a detention camp without the benefit of a trial.'

Post-Constitutional America: The Trap is Closing
We have been lied to and are being lied to again. Peter Farmer takes a close look at the ominous and insidious acts of our government under Bush and particularly Obama since 2009. Most people, especially us seniors, tend to forget what news events happened more than a few days ago, but when you see the list of events of a few recent years, the pattern and trend of those events jumps out at you.

Whatever the intentions of George W. Bush, there can be little argument that the nescient national security super-state he helped to create has proven to fit the iron fist of his successor, Barack Obama, like a glove. Using a combination of executive orders, unaccountable appointed “czars,” extrapolations and modifications of existing regulations, and old-fashioned political strong-arming, Obama and his ideological comrades have shredded the constitution and seized vast new powers for themselves and the federal government.

Each year, Congress passes a national defense authorization act (NDAA), which appropriates funds for the annual operation of the military and also sets forth modifications to national defense policy. Buried within its pages, the 2012 NDAA contained language authorizing the military to arrest and detain American citizens indefinitely without due process or habeas corpus, if they are suspected of being “terrorists” or what the act terms “covered persons.”
In addition to being a clear violation of the Posse Comitatus Act – which prohibits the U.S. military from conducting combat operations on American soil – the NDAA effectively abolishes the constitutional right to due process. The term “covered persons” is sufficiently vague as to be meaningless and thereby can be stretched to accommodate whatever purpose the government desires.

Why do these civilian agencies need that much ammunition? Hollow-point bullets are designed explicitly for anti-personnel use. The government claims this ammunition is strictly for target practice and annual qualifications drills. If so, why is so much HP ammunition required?

In addition to the foregoing, it has just been disclosed that DHS has purchased 2,717 military-surplus MRAP (i.e., mine resistant ambush protected) armored personnel carriers from the military and is retrofitting them for use with that agency. The 18.9-ton MRAP was designed for service in combat; specifically, to withstand small-arms fire, improvised explosive devices, mines, rocket-propelled grenades and other military-grade threats. Why does a civilian agency of the federal government need such equipment – and in such quantity?

US Army Tactical Manuals Describe How to Control Domestic Insurrection
I see all this preparation to quell civilian disturbances, and Leon Panetta seems ready at the drop of a hat to defend his boss Obama and guarantee the continuity of government. The pentagon under Panetta is trying to convince Congress that the inconvenient Posse Comitatus Act (PCA) concerning the use of the military against its own country is no longer needed.
But what is going to cause large mobs of irate US citizens? What are Obama and Panetta expecting? Resistance to martial law that Obama declares? I don't know.

'In times of domestic insurrection, the Executive Branch can enforce armed support to state governments and local police departments with or without their approval because the continuity of government is the endgame and must be preserved. In this event, domestic intelligence gathering become paramount to maintain a clear chain of military command to be able to stop the home-grown insurgency. This would empower the Department of Homeland Security with the approval of the President, to enact the Insurrection Act and deploy armed troops with in the US to stop rebellion, insurrection, and lawlessness. While the initial powers are reserved for the state and local governments, and Posse Comitatus (PCA) restricts and delays the Executive Branch in enforcement, the current presidential administration with the aid of the Pentagon is seeking to rescind the PCA in order to facilitate control over domestic terrorism.
The Federal Protective Service (FPS) has been given the responsibility to protecting federally owned property while preparing for civilian led riots expected in the near future. And part of the preparatory measures was an order of 150 sets of riot gear that was requested to be filled exponentially.
The FPS is anticipating that police or military wearing the gear would encounter “blunt force trauma” to the upper torso, as well as potential beatings with “blunt objects”.
In June of this year, the US Army requested bids for riot gear that was answered by A2Z Supply Corp, in which specified equipment was to be delivered to West Point Academy in New York.
The purpose of these patrol units was to aid “with civil unrest and crowd control or to deal with potentially horrific scenarios such as massive poisoning and chaos in response to a chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear or high-yield explosive, or CBRNE, attack” and provide “coordinate defense support of civil authorities” under NORTHCOM and other commands including federal homeland defense efforts.'

Summary
In the ten years that have passed since 9/11, the United States waged war with Afghanistan and Iraq, overthrowing both the Taliban government and the Saddam Hussein Regime. The cost in dollars, lives, suffering and untold misery still continues today. Despite the ten years of war overseas, the Federal Government first under Bush and now under Obama’s leadership, has been systematically erecting a control grid around the American people in our own home. Chuck Baldwin warns us in an essay entitled: Bill Of Rights Is No More:
“Americans should realize that, coupled with the Patriot Act, the NDAA, for all intents and purposes, completely nullifies a good portion of the Bill of Rights, turns the United States into a war zone, and places US citizens under military rule. And what is even more astonishing is the manner in which the national press corps, and even the so-called “conservative” talking heads, have either completely ignored it, or have actually defended it. The likes of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, et al., should be ashamed of themselves!”
Many of us are not aware of many of these acts. Many of us probably ignored the implications as we trusted our Government to look out for our interests and national security. As administrations have changed, some of us are now more wary of these actions taken by our Government. We think the trends are alarmingly clear and these powers represent a noose that we soon may not be able to escape.

'Those beguiled by the lie [the controlled news media] staunchly refuse to listen to those trying to awaken them, instead resorting to obtuse slander and half-witted accusations of "conspiracy theory." This term has to be the most intellectually deficient argument ever concocted, for it is in itself extremely ignorant and devoid of reason, totally forsaking the evil aspect of man. Those who stoop to such a moronic rebuttal try to infer that conspiracy does not exist. Instead they are quite willing and content to accept horrific high crimes of state as mere coincidence, refusing to accept that two or more persons could ever come together to commit such elaborate criminal ventures. These people can best be described as fools and "coincidence theorists."
...
We have but six corporations that own our entire media system. This essentially means that we have six CEO's who tell us what truth is and what news is.
...
Much of the initiative and language of the amendment was redundant and already covered under the previous aforementioned Acts, however, the new amendments added a disturbing twist that the other bills did not contain, the usurpation of the Posse Comitatus Act by allowing military intervention on domestic soil to allegedly combat terrorism. As a result American citizens are now threatened by a US military which is meant to protect us.
...
They can promise us all they want about not using this against American citizens, but the fact is, they have this power now, and power given is seldom ever relinquished. It is dangerous to give politicians absolute power over the people. As the old saying goes, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
Just as Hitler had his Enabling Act, so now does our government have the same power.'

The Senate's Terrifying Vision of the Constitution | THE PLAIN TRUTH by Judge Napolitano 11/29/11
More about the NDAA and the Posse Comitatus law of 1868. 5-minute video with Judge Napolitano.

"Can the president use the military to arrest anyone he wants? Keep that person away from a judge and a jury, and lock him up for as long as he wants?"

Federal Government Takes Final Step to Suspend Constitution
Some people at last Saturday's current events discussion were unfamiliar with the 1878 Posse Comitatus law. A brief description is in the paragraph below.
8-minute video.
Bruce
'In what can only be considered a tragic irony, the U.S. Senate passed out of the final conference committee the controversial National Defense Authorization Act of 2012, coinciding with the 220th Anniversary of the ratification of the Bill of Rights. Section 1031 of the National Defense Authorization Act otherwise known as the NDAA, provides broad authority for the federal government to use the military in domestic operations in order to detain Americans indefinitely and without trial. Such a move not only whitewashes the natural rights of Americans, whereby even publicly criticizing the federal government can now rise to the purposefully vague definition of a "belligerent act", it also sits in direct violation of "Posse Comitatus" an 1878 law forbidding use of the military at home and against Americans. Here are Congressman Paul's remarks on the bill.'

Obamacare - the text of the law
I received a fair amount of ridicule for not quoting the law last Saturday in a discussion group at the assisted living facility. That's fair. I should have been better prepared.
This is the link to the 1,000+ pages of the Obamacare law the Congress wasn't allowed to see before that idiot Nancy Pelosi had them vote on it. This is also the law that sets up a civilian force SEC. 5210. ESTABLISHING A READY RESERVE CORPS.
I am not a lawyer but I will try to explain what I have found.
In another post, I will get the law referenced in Wayne Merc's letter, "And now we add the NDAA Military Detention bill where Congress has disabled one more protection for Americans, (Posse Comitatus; see below) enabling Mr. Obama to use the military to detain American citizens without due process. This in addition to also selecting any American for extermination based on his word alone."

"Read the Law
Here we provide two ways for you to read the text of the Affordable Care Act.

Read the Affordable Care Act and its amendments. Note: The text is searchable.
The Affordable Care Act, Section by Section
Below you will find all 10 Titles (or sections) of the Affordable Care Act, with amendments to the law called for by the reconciliation process."

We the People Have Been Betrayed…Once More!
Good for Wayne Merc for keeping us informed. Three cheers for Sheriff Joe Arpaio and Sheriff Richard Mack for spearheading investigations and educating the public on the Constitution.

"The following is a brief list of unlawful actions, orchestrated by the federal government, which have finally become so apparent that they can no longer be denied! It is a matter of public knowledge:
The case of the Gunrunner incident,
undeclared wars in Libya and Yemen
Trillions of dollars of bailout funds given to unknown foreign principals
The DOJ dismissing cases based on racial bias,
The DOJ cover-up: Racketeering (new)
The failed efforts to protect our borders,
A suit filed against the state of Arizona and
Mr. Obama’s fraudulent use of a deceased person’s Social Security number
The most recent affront to the American people is the submission by Mr. Obama of a fraudulent birth certificate that he was using to attest to his eligibility to even hold office.
And now we add the NDAA Military Detention bill where Congress has disabled one more protection for Americans, (Posse Comitatus; see below) enabling Mr. Obama to use the military to detain American citizens without due process. Government Activating FEMA Camps Across U.S.
This news will go unnoticed by most Americans focussed on the good will and cheer of the holiday season. What "emergency" is Obama getting ready for? Why has he been signing Executive orders? Martial law?
Bruce
"Services up for bid include catering, temporary fencing and barricades, laundry and medical services, power generation, refuse collection, and other services required for temporary “emergency environment” camps located in five regions of the United States.
Internment Camp Services Bid Arrives After NDAA
KBR’s call for FEMA camp service bids arrives soon after the Senate overwhelmingly passed the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) which permits the military to detain and interrogate supposed domestic terror suspects in violation of the Fourth Amendment and Posse Comitatus.
Section 1031 of the NDAA bill declares the whole of the United States as a “battlefield” and allows American citizens to be arrested on U.S. soil and incarcerated in Guantanamo Bay."

Busting Posse Comitatus: Military Cops Arrest Civilians in Florida City
What a lie to show Americans: get used to the "friendly" military police in your neighborhood working for the Dept. of Homeland Security (DHS). See how "friendly" they become if the dictator Obama decides to declare martial law. "Your papers please."
Bruce
'NORTHCOM announced in 2008 it would use battle-hardened troops from Iraq for “civil unrest and crowd control” in the United States. On September 30, 2008, the Pentagon announced the 3rd Infantry Division’s 1st Brigade Combat Team would be an “on-call federal response force for natural or manmade emergencies and disasters, including terrorist attacks,” the Army Times reported.
The mission soon expanded from disasters to every day police activity.
...
The Quadrennial Defense Review for 2001′s declaration that homeland security is the primary mission of the Department of Defense is particularly dangerous now that the government with the help of the corporate media has shifted the threat of terrorism from distant cave-dwelling Muslims to local “far right” extremists.'

Obama’s Border Enforcement Deceit
A commenter suggested using our military armor to secure the borders. I agree. Congress would have to suspend the Posse Comitatus Act that prohibits using American military for law enforcement. Make it temporary until the overdue fence is built.
