Good to be appreciated at last.

You wanna know what felt good? Being in a Memorial Day parade today with the American Legion and having people cheer and yelling, "Thank You!" as I went past.

I was shocked and humuliated one day in uniform in a Baltimore bus terminal to have people spit on me and yell, "Baby killer!" I didn't know what they were talking about until I saw John Kerry and Jane Fonda on TV.

I was very surprised years later after I had completed my miltary service and was attending a retiree day on a Navy base to have people actually thank me for my service. No one had ever bothered to say thank you to me in 20+ years.

Now my wife (she was an Air Force nurse) and I can't march at all any more and today we were in a car loaned to the town parade by a local dealer. A lasting memory.
